Dash Covers/Pad Reviews:

Caring for your car means both inside and out. The sun can do tremendous damage to the interior of your car if you park it outside enough. Car owners used to buy windshield sun protectors but those aren't as popular as they used to be. Now, you are finding dashboard covers and pads that are pre-cut to fit any factory designed dash. If you want to protect your dashboard surface from UV sun rays then buying a dash cover is the way to go. Also, if your dash has scratches or blemishes, the cover will hide those imperfections. Anyone that lives in a hot weather climate like Arizona or Nevada should consider the dashboard covers. How much are dash covers? Where do you buy dashboard protectors? We cover all that below.

Choosing a Dash Pad - First, the dash pads are sold for all types of vehicles - trucks, SUVs and sedans. The top brands are Dashmat, Dashtechs, Coverking, and Dash Designs. Most auto care stores carry these products - like Autozone, but we suggest buying online where you can specifically order the exact match for your make and model of car. Autoanything.com and Amazon.com are the 2 best sources online for finding dash covers that will fit your car. Want dash cover reviews? We found dozens listed on websites like Costco.com (Coverking covers), Autoanything.com (Dash Designs suede covers), and Amazon (Dashmat covers). You can read up on consumer comments, feedback, and opinions for all brands and products. What do they cost? The vast majority are priced between $30 and $40. The Dashmat covers are made with soft foss fiber carpet that don't unravel or fray. They are colorfast non-shrink heat and UV resistant. They fasten to your dash with hook and loop fasterners. Any sensor or vent openings will be visible with the pre-cut finish. Do they do the job? In all the reviews we found, owners were satisfied with the results. A few mention that speakers are covered on a few models of cars, but the actual sound quality is not lost. I found the fit with my car to be near perfect with the Dashmat brand. My dash had started to crack in a few spots and fade due to extensive sum exposure so I'm hoping the dashboard cover will eliminate any more wear and tear. Best Dash Cover:

If you want the best, then go with the top rated DashMat dashboard covers. They fit Hondas, Dodges, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Mercedes, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota, and many more car makes. Amazon.com has a great car part finder application that allows you to enter in the year, make, and model of your vehicle and it will pull up the dash covers that fit. The mats do come rolled up so per the manufacturers recommendations, you are supposed to lay the mats out flat for roughly 24 hours. At that point the dash cover should be ok to install. Quality seems ok and most covers will last the lifetime of your car, truck or SUV.

Dash Pad to Protect from Sun Damage:

As I mentioned above, the windshield sun reflectors still work, but the dash covers just look better and don't require being put up or down like the reflectors do. Your dashboard will be protected from the damaging rays of the sun for years and the pads never have to be adjusted or moved. If you ever do decide to sell your car, the next owner will appreciate the fact that you took care of the cars interior. No one likes to see scratches or cracks on the dash of their car. If you want to see the different between brands - especially the materials they use - go down to your local car parts store and see what they have on inventory. Velour is the most common material we saw, but cotton and canvas are very popular.
