Buick sells cars under the GM trademark and has done very well until the last few years when the Japanese automakers have started stealing market share from Buick and other U.S. manufacturers. Buick has made some popular cars over the years (we will discuss them below) and their new lineup should do well. The 2007 Buick Lacrosse is a midsize luxury car that comes in the CX, CXL, and CXS models. The Buick Lacrosse CX starts at $22490 that comes with a 3.8L 3800 V6 SFI Series III engine delivering 200 HP. 5 passenger means there is room for the entire family. Mileage is reasonable at 20/30 (City/highway). The Lacrosse CXL goes for $24990 and has the same engine as the CX but you also get dual-zone automatic air conditioning and a 6-way power driver seat with power lumbar controls. Leather seating is a nice feature as well on the CXL. The Lacrosse CXS has a slightly larger engine, 3.6L VVT DOHC V6 engine, that puts out 240 horsepower and ultimately cuts down on gas mileage. At $27990 for the CXS, we say stick with the CXL for the best performance, mileage, and comfort.

The 2006 and 2007 Buick Lucernes resemble the Lexus sedans, but are much cheaper starting at $25990 for the Lucerne CX. Standard features include a 3.8L 3800 V6 SFI Series III engine with 197 HP, 5-passenger seating (cloth seating), traction control, and QuietTuned interior. The 2007 Lucerne CXL has an MSRP of $27990 and gives you 2 engine options - 3.8L 3800 V6 SFI Series III engine or 4.6L NorthStar V8 engine. Leather seating and the added frontal, dual-depth inflation air bags for safety make this car worth the money. At the high end is the Lucerne CXS ($34990) with a standard 4.6L NorthStar V8 engine and 275 HP. The 32 valve dual overhead cam engine really delivers a driving experience. We really liked the Harmon/Kardon audio system and custom leather seating making the car feel like a luxury sedan. Mileage remains reasonable at 17/25 (city/highway). 2007 Buick SUV's Terraza - Rainier - Rendezvous:

Tiger Woods has helped increase Buicks brand name over the last few years with his name and face associated with Buick cars through advertising. The Buick Rainier is a hot seller at $31290 and it seats 7 comfortably. The Vortec 4200 SFI I6 engine supplies plenty of power (291 HP) and still maintains good gas mileage at 16/22 (city/highway). "Rainier's standard chassis stability control system, StabiliTrak, uses data from many sensors to help you stay on your intended course". For a smaller SUV feel around town or in the city, the Buick Rendezvous is a great pick. Priced at just under $25,000 you get a functional SUV with a 3.5L 3500 V6 SFI engine (195 HP) that supplies enough power but still delivers gas mileage that won't break you (19/26). It comes with the Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist which helps you back into parking spots without hitting things. Buick described the CX as "CX is the intersection of elegance, function, and passenger-carrying capability". There is a CXL model that starts at $28990 and adds some luxury items - mahogany trimmed wheel, dual-zone climate control, leather-appointed seating. The 2007 Buick Terraza is marketed as a safe family SUV with lots of amenities. The Terraza CX ($27990) has a 3.5L 3500 V6 SFI engine, DVD entertainment system, Leather-appointed seating, and QuietTuning. Stabilitrak and dual-stage inflation air bags are the safety features all families need for a safe ride. The Buick Terraza CXL adds rear a/c, power seats, and a power sliding passenger side door. The price starts at $30490 and is the best value in terms of reselling it down the road since gas mileage at 18/25 is pretty good for an SUV.
