Chevrolet has been at the forefront of trucks in America for decades and they advertise their trucks as tough, durable, and reliable. Chevy trucks can be found on farms across the United States and in rural places you've probably never heard of. They are the ultimate "tough guy" vehicle with a hard edge image. The new 2007 Chevy Silverado comes in 6 models - the Half ton, Hybrid, 2500HD, 3500, SS, and 1500HD. The Chevrolet Silverado Half-ton starts at $16715 and is considered a work truck with a Vortec V6 and V8 options. The trim levels are the work truck, LS, 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The Silverado 3LT 4x4 starts at $34010 and has extended and crew cabs, Vortec V8 engines, heated bucket seats, 6-Disc CD changer with Bose speakers, and custom leather seating surfaces. The Silverado 2500HD starts at $22700 for the WT, but we prefer the 2LT with a Vortec 6000 V8 engine, an available Duramax Diesel V8 with Allison 6-speed automatic transmission. Dual-zone autmatic temperature controls and reclining bucket seats are also available.
The Silverado 3500HD is slightly larger and starts at $27340 for the 4x4 but we think the LS 4x4 at $28240 is the best choice for this model. You can get either regular or extended cabs, the Vortec V8 engine, custom cloth 40/20/40 split bench front seats, cruise control and more. The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT offer more power features (windows, seats, etc), but are not necessary. The Silverado Hybrid is the newest model available in the 1LT and 2LT trims. Both options give you a Vortec 5300 V8 engine, onboard 20-amp, 2400-watt generator, four 120-volt accessory power outlets, and 2x2 or 4x4 models. Pricing is very similar on both, so pick a model and options and go with it. The Chevrolet Silverado SS is the showman of the group and starts at $33805 for the 2WD. Get a 345 HP Vortec Max V8 engine with tuned 3.5 inch side exhaust, Z60 high performance suspension package with lowered ride height, 20-inch chrome finish cast-aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle performance tires, white backlit gauges, and more. Lastly, the Silverado 1500HD models come available in trim levels - 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The 3LT is the bad boy of the bunch and starts at $37040 (4x4) with the Vortec 6000 V8 engine, hyra-matic four speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode, 10-way adjustable, heated bucket seats with leather surfaces, 6-Disc CD changer, and outside, power-folding, heated mirrors. All the features, options and specs of the Chevrolet Silverado can be found at Chevrolet.com/silverado.
2007 Chevy Avalanche - Colorado:

The 2007 Avalanche LS starts at $32490 (2WD, 4x4 is $35490) with the new Vortec 5.3L V8 and the E85 Flexfuel capability. The Avalanche LT starts at $33170 and comes standard with assist steps, body panels, cargo box, cargo cover, recovery hooks, safety cage, and a stainless steel exhaust system with aluminized stainless steel muffler and tailpipe. The 2007 Avalanche LTZ is the big boy of the group at $39905 and $42905 for the 4x4 edition. Get a luggage rack side rails, Bose 7-speaker stereo system, new Ultrasonic rear parking assist, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. In a cold weather climate, the new heated windshield washer fluid system works great. The 2007 Chevy Colorado comes in a regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab and is ideal for getting around town with simple hauling needs. There are 6 models (1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, Work Truck, Chassis Cab), but we will focus on the 2LT and Work Truck. The 2LT comes with the Vortec 2800 I-4 engine a 5-speed tranmission with overdrive, and deluxe cloth 3 passenger 60/40 split bench fron seat. Fuel mileage on the 2LT 20 city/27 highway. The Work Truck starts at $15390 for the 2WD version with a 6 foot long pickup box, removable lockable tailgate, and great handling. The extended cab offers 5 options with the 3LT being our favorite of the bunch with the Vortec 3500 I-5 engine, power everything, foglamps, sliding rear window, and high back bucket seats all for $23050. The Colorado Crew Cab starts at $21990 for the 1LT, but we again prefer the 2LT for $23230. You get solar ray deep tint glass, CD/MP3 Player stereo, and a powerful Vortec 3500 I-5 engine. With plenty of horsepower and style, the Avalanche and Colorado should be mainstays of Chevy trucks for years to come.
Chevrolet SSR
The Chevy SSR truck/roadster is definitely different than most car/autos you have seen. There is a power-retractable hardtop roof, a 395 HP 6.0 liter V8 engine with a standard automatic transmission. There is a 400 horsepower V8 engine available with manual transmission for those sports car drivers out there. It comes with a five-link rear suspension, 19-inch front wheels and Goodyear tires and 20-inch rear wheels and Goodyear tires. The price is just under $40K ($39890). Standard safety features include side-impact air bags, traction control, ABS and DIC (Driver Information Center) which monitors and reports vehicle functions like fuel range, average fuel mileage, trip odometer, and others. Early customer satisfaction is high on this hybrid type of vehicle that has a truck bed, but the body of an old time roadster. It's nice to see modern technology adapted into the classic styles from the cars of yesteryear.
