Review of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica - Best Minivan/SUV/Sedan:
The Chrysler Pacifica is one of the top selling vehicles on the market with it's immaculate safety record: Five-Star Front- and Side-Impact Crash Test Rating. The uniqueness of the Pacifica (it's a cross between a sedan, minivan and SUV) is what draws the attention of customers as well as its performance. You get sport sedan handling and cornering, capability of towing trailers up to 3500 lbs, and a standard AutoStick transaxle powering a 3.5-liter V6 engine. There are 3 rows of luxury seating, with the Limited version giving you heated front and second row seats. The second and 3rd row seating fold flat on the Touring model to give you some added cargo space. The available Cargo Convenience Group includes tonneau cover, cargo net, adjustable roof-rail crossbars, and rear fascia step/scuff pad. There are dual-zone automatic temperature controls on the Touring and Limited models. The interior is designed like that of a luxury sedan with a great sound system and quality speakers. We enjoyed the versatility that the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica offers to all types of users. You can get more details at Chrysler.com/Pacifica/.

The Chrysler Pacifica starts at $28805 for the Pacifica/AWD model, the Touring/AWD is $32095, the Limited Edition goes for $37615 and the Touring Signature Series/AWD is $35420. They all comes with standard 4-speed automatic transmissions and a 3.5-Liter V6 24-Valve MPI Engine which delivers 250 horsepower at 6400 RPM with 250 pounds feet of torque at 4000 RPM. Fuel economy is about 17 city/22 highway. After test driving this vehicle we definitely can say it's fun to drive and comfortable too. The self-leveling rear shock absorbers, five-link rear suspension, and large tires on wide wheels keep the car on the road and safe. The quiet ride was relaxing and our kids loved all the room in the 2nd and 3rd row seating areas. Although the price was a bit high, we realized the overall functionality of the Chrysler Pacifica is what makes it worth it. You get a minivan, sUV and sedan all built into one vehicle. It sounds like 2008 Chrysler Pacifica will add even more features that will be standard and perhaps even a hybrid version will be available down the road.
Chrysler Pacifica vs Other Leading Utility Vehicles:
The Chrysler Pacifica has some stiff competition from the likes of the Toyota Highlander, Lexus RX 330, Nissan Murano, Ford Freestyle, and Buick Rendezvous. The Chrysler Pacifica gives you the most horsepower, the self leveling suspension, large wheels, premium leather upholstery, remote CD changer, the largest fuel tank capacity (23 gallons), and the best crash test ratings. You can go to Edmunds.com and peform the same comparison on all these cars. Although we like the Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX 330 for some specific options, the Chrysler Pacifica was the overall winner in our eyes and that is ultimately why we decided to buy it.
Used Chrysler Pacificas:
Before settling in on buying a new 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, I researched the used market to see what Pacificas were selling for. A 2005 Chrysler Pacifica 4 door STD wagon sells for about $16223. A 2004 Chrysler Pacifica 4 Dr STD AWD Wagon gets high consumer ratings and sells for about $19170. The best place research used car values and options is at Kelly Blue Book (Kbb.com) or Edmunds.com. You can price out mileage, options, vehicle condition (good, fair, excellent), and get a reasonable idea of what to expect to pay a 3rd party versus a dealer. The best sites to find used Chrysler Pacificas are at Ebay Motors, Brandspankinused.com or Autobytel.com. It's usually recommended staying away from the first year model of any newer car as all the problems has not always been worked out when it hits the market.
