Reviews of the 2006 Honda civics - 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid:
Honda became famous in America with its Accord, but the Honda Civic has slowly passed the Accord in popularity (at least with internet searches). A younger generation is buying the 2006 Honda Civic in droves. The new Honda Civic comes in 5 models with the Coupe, GX NGV, Hybrid Sedan, Sedan, and SI Coupe. The Honda Civic Coupe is the cheapest at $14560 and the Honda Civic GX NGV is $24,440. The coupe is the 2 door model and the sedans offer 4 doors. We still prefer the Honda Civic Sedan at $14760 with 4 doors and a large enough interior to fit 4 people (even with 2 carseats in the back) comfortably. Although the Accord is better for safety with a slightly larger body and interior area, the Civic is a better value for the money. The 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid offers better fuel economy and an excellent safety record with front, side and side curtain airbags. For more details, read below.
The Honda Civic Hybrid sedan gives you a standard 4 cylinder engine with 110 HP. The current 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid is selling very robustly since the price of gasoline ($3/gallon) has finally arrived at a level which makes owning a hybrid almost a necessity to survive in these times. Honda claims the Civic Hybrid gets close to 50 MPG, which is astounding. The refined gasoline-electric powertrain on the Civic Hybrid give you benefits when it comes to filling up. The traditional Honda Civic Sedan offers the DX, LX and EX models with prices going up for automatic transmissions and other upgrades. We prefer the Honda Civic EX with automatic transmission which is still priced below $20K. Reliability is a key for Honda and the latest Civic should be no different. Check them out at Honda.com in the autombile/trucks/car section of the site. As hybrid technology takes root and more and more cars are equipped with a gas-electric combination, we feel Honda or Toyota is the way to go.
Honda Civic SI - Honda Civic Coupe:
The Honda Civic Coupe is meant for younger people with its sleek styling, sharp handling, and high tech dashboard monitors. I've seen more Civics in street racing videos than any other car, that's because they are easy to modify and upgrade with accessories (read more on that below). In the same breadth, since there are so many Civics on the road, they remain a leader in getting stolen since parts can be swapped out very easily. Back to the car itself, the Civic Coupe comes in a DX ($14560), LX ($16510), and the EX ($18460). They all offer a 4 cylinder motor with roughly 140 HP and 30/40 gas mileage. Airbags all around are standard on the Coupe and the 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine gives you plenty of quickness and power to enjoy the ride. The Civic SI comes with 197 HP from a 2.0 liter K20 engine with a 6 speed manual transmission and sporty suspension. The SI outperforms the regular Coupe in all categories except gas mileage (not that young people care much about mileage). The Standard 17" wheels help with superior handling and a tight ride. "A futuristic two-tier instrument panel, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with Voice Recognition help keep your focus on the road". You can price compare all Civics on the Honda site listed above.
Used Honda Civics
As like most car manufacturers, Honda has created a "certified used Honda" program through local dealers to resell Hondas that have been inspected by mechanics and are available with warranties from dealers. The wise used car buyer will try to avoid dealer markups and go through the secondary car market with sites like Ebay, Autotrader.com, Cars.com and even Craigslist.org. Dealers will definitely mark up the used car to cover their expenses while a private party seller can give you a better deal with no overhead. Our recent search on Craigslist brought up dozens of 2002 Honda Civic, 2003 Honda Civic, 2004 Honda Civics, 2005 Honda Civic, 2000 Honda Civics, and some even dating back to 1995. As with all used car deals, get a local mechanic to check out the car before buying it and you might even want to do a title history check on the car through Carfax.com to make sure it's not salvaged, damaged in floods, or other scary things.
Honda Civic Body Kit - Honda Civic Accessory - Honda Civic Parts
As I had mentioned above, the Civic Coupe and SI models are often bought by younger males and turned into street racers which makes the market for modifications like body kits, exhaust extensions, etc. very profitable. If you want a body kit for your Honda Civic, we suggest going to Sportycompactonly.com since there selection and pricing appears to be the best on the web. Used parts for your Civics can be purchased at places like Hondapartsdeals.com or Partstrain.com. If you want things like spoilers, floor mats, rims, seat covers, bras, and other accessories for your Civic, try Handa-accessories.com/civic.html.
