Reviews of the 2007 Honda Fit:

The Honda Accord has been one of the best selling cars in North America for years, but the new Honda Fit may take over that title soon. The 2007 Honda Fit is jumping off lots across the U.S. as people flock to purchase this new 5-door car from Honda. Although it looks small, the Honda Fit has plenty of interior room with an innovative 60/40 split 2nd row MagicSeat which lets you have 4 different configurations. The engine is small at 1.5 liters, but still manages 109 hp. Standard safety features include front, front side, and side curtain airbags. The 2007 Honda Fit starts at $13850. The Honda Fit Sport model offers a bit more (see below).

The Honda Fit Sport model starts at $15170 with the manual transmission on the same 4 cylinder 16-valve VTEC engine you find on the base model. There is an optional 5-speed automatic transmission which starts at $15970. You get a 200-watt AM/FM/CD audio system w/ 6 speakers and MP3/WMA playback capability. The sport 15" alloy wheels, body colored underbody kit, body-colored rear roofline spoiler, fog lights, cruise control, and 31 city/37 highway mpg. For the extra money we prefer the Fit Sport with added style and features. Both models drove comfortably and passenger seating for 5 (not large adults) is possible. The 2008 Honda Fit may actually come out as a Hybrid version. Honda is definitely at the forefront of hybrid technology along with Toyota and I'm sure they will produce an all hybrid line of cars within the next 5-10 years. Honda Fit vs Chevrolet Aveo - Ford Focus - Scion xA - Toyota Yaris:

Honda faces stiff competition in this class of car, most notably from the Scion xA and Toyota Yaris. The Scion and Yaris have very similar prices, while the Ford Focus tops out at about $3K for the loaded model. The Honda Fit has great handling, seating versatility, and excellent mileage. Plus, crash test results for the driver and passenger were considered "excellent" and came out as only "good" for the others. If you have to choose, we would say the Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris are the top choices, simply because customer satisfaction and long-term reliability ratings are always highest with Honda and Toyota vehicles. Perhaps Ford and Chevrolet can have more success in this class of car, but for now, we say go with the Honda Fit.

Used Honda Fits:

With the 2007 Honda Fit models just hitting the streets, there are very few used models available. In fact, we would recommend buying new when it comes to this model with the price difference being so little between used and new at this time. Perhaps when the 2008 Honda Fit is released, the 2007 models will come down in price, but the popularity for this year is strong and resale prices reflect that.
