Reviews of the 2006 Kia Sorento and 2006 Kia Sportage:

The 2006 Kia Sorento is a mid-size SUV that is perfect for city driving but rugged enough for weekend fun in the country. The safety features include the governments highest side-impact safety rating and standard features include a V6, side-curtain air bags, 8-speaker CD stereo system, plenty of storage and seating area, power everything and air conditioning. You also get the 10year/100,000 mile warranty which includes the 5 years of 24-hour roadside assistance. At just under 200 horsepower, the Kia Sorento has enough power to pull boats and makes passing easy. The LX comes standard with a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission, but has available the Electronically controlled 5-speed automatic, overdrive (which is standard on the EX). Mileage is roughly 15/20 (city/highway) and the LX starts at $19665. You can find more details and specs online at Kia.com.

The 2006 Kia Sportage is a smaller, compact SUV that goes for $16495, but still offers some excellent features like a V6, cruise control, a/c, and a power sunroof. The Sportage is small enough for easy maneuverability in parking lots (parking larger SUV's can be a hassle) and with safety features like six airbags, you feel safe driving the Sportage. We do wish their was more horsepower (only 173), as the car appeared sluggish at times when the air conditioning was on. Overall though, the Electronically-controlled 4-speed automatic, overdrive w/Sportmatic was smooth and comfortable to drive. Kelly Blue Book calls the Kia Sportage "Top 10 coolest new cars selling under $18,000" and Consumer Guide says "Surprisingly refined, reasonably roomy, and remarkably priced, Sportage is a strong Recommended pick. V6 versions are our choice for about the same money as rival 4-cyl models. An impressive list of standard equipment and a long warranty add to its appeal". We feel that the Kia Sportage is great for small families or single city dwellers, but lacks enough space to sufficiently handle cars seats, dogs, and other necessities in modern families. Go with the larger Sorento or Sedona listed below. For complete independent reviews with side by side comparisons of Kias and the competition, go to Edmunds.com. The new 2007 Kia Sportage and Kia Sorento are expected to surpass the 2006 models in almost every area and we are looking forward the upcoming reviews from Consumer Reports magazine on those models.

2007 Kia Sedona Minivan:

The 2006 Kia Sedona minivan comes with a 5 star Crash Safety rating, available dual power sliding doors, an available power lift gate, and fold in the floor 3rd row seats. Starting at $23665, the Kia Sedona is offered in both an LX and EX model with a standard 3.8L V6, aluminum heads and aluminum block engine, 244 HP, 5-speed electronically controlled Sportmatic w/ overdrive transmission, and good fuel mileage at 18 city/25 highway. With family in mind, Kia has produced a safety first minivan and car reviewers absolutely love it. Autoweek.com says "Loads of features and a low price give the Sedona an edge in the minivan market" and Sport Truck Connection says "We chose the Kia Sedona as the best minivan because of its excellent ride and handling, generous leg room and interior features, which all add up to a great value package". With high honors and customer satisfaction ratings through the roof, we expect the 2007 Kia Sedonas to be even better. The model we test drove offered front seat warmers, leather trim, back-up warning system, sunroof, and plenty of room for 7 passengers. The warranty offered by Kia on their minivan is the most comprehensive in its class. The optional DVD entertainment system is a must if you have kids. Just pop in a dvd and head out on weekend getaways.

Used Kias - Sedonas - Sorentos - Sportage:

There are lots of sources available for finding a quality used Kia Sedona, Sorento, or Sportage. We recommend starting at Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds.com for reviews of each years models and common issues to look for when buying a used Kia. Once you have chosen the year and model you want, then go to online car sites like Ebay Motors, Carmax.com, Autosite.com, or Craigslist.org in their auto section. Of course, you can always go to your local Kia dealership (see below) and see what they are offering. Eventhough a dealer will mark up a used Kia more than a 3rd party, you can often get the difference back through better financing deals. Shop wisely and always get a certified mechanic to inspect the car before buying.

Most popular Kia dealerships - Parts/Accessory:

To find your local Kia dealer, just to go Kia.com and type in your zip code for the nearest dealership. The best Kia dealer in Chicago is at Gateway-kia.com, 5373 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60630 and the most popular Kia dealership in Los Angeles is at Housekia.com on 824 S Western Ave Los Angeles, CA 90005 - (213) 382-1200. For a complete line of Kia parts, go to KiaUSAParts.com for the online parts catalog. It's not as user friendly as we would like (takes time to weed through their online choices), but we were able to locate parts for all models and makes of any Kia every built. Another site with less inventory, but a better layout was Partstrain.com, one of our favorite online parts stores for any car. .
