Reviews of the 2006 and 2007 Mercedes C Class - C350 - C230 - C280:

Mercedes Benz automobiles have consistently rated high in customer satisfaction surveys until recent years, but they appear to be back on track with the latest 2006 and 2007 models in the C Class. The smallest in the C class series is the C230 Sport Sedan that starts at $29975. Although small in stature, the C230 produces over 200 HP from the 2.5L 24-valve V-6 engine. The 6-speed short-throw manual transmission makes driving a pleasure and while the optional 7-speed automatic is drive adaptive. Gas mileage is 21 city/30 highway and the car is considered an ultra low emission vehicle. The warranty is for 48 months/50,000 miles (whichever comes first) and extended limited warranties are available through your local Mercedes dealerships. We really like the driving capability of the C230, but the larger C280 is where we would spend our $$. The C280 with a 3.0L 24-valve V6 engine provides plenty of sport performance with "European sophistication". There are optional rear-side airbags, and the 7-speed automatic gives you 228 HP. The optional DVD Navigation system is a great add-on. The C280 Sedan goes for $33725.

The 2006 C350 Sport Sedan has an MSRP of $38325 and has features like a V6 engine, 6-speed manual or 7-speed Touch Shift automatic transmissions, 17" 5-spoke wheels, and lowered sport-tuned suspension. The 3.5L engine has 268 horsepower which accelerates the C350 from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. Mileage is reasonable at 20 city/29 highway and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) will keep the road in your control as you upshift, downshift, and brake during corners. The exterior features are just as breathtaking with AMG designed lower bodywork like side skirts, rear apron, front air dam with mesh air intakes. Dual power mirrors are linked to seat memory so no adjustments are ever necessary. The leather interior and wood trim along with electrostatic dust and pollen filter are just a few of the luxury items you will find. The C350 Luxury Sedan is slightly more expensive at $38925 with very similar features to the Sport Sedan. To find out more details with photo galleries of each C Class vehicle, go to Mercedes-Benz.com. For head to head comparisons of the Mercedes C Class and other vehicles, consider going to Edmunds.com with their full feature reviews and ratings.

Mercedes C55 AMG:

The C55 AMG is the priciest in the class starting at $55225. The luxury sedan offers an AMG-built 5.5L 24-valve 90-degree V-8 engine that delivers 362 HP at 5750 RPM and 376 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM. To say this vehicle is a racecar is an understatement. The power and handling correspond so smoothly you feel like the car is driving itself at times. The engine is truly designed with a racing mentality - high pressure die cast alloy cylinder block, alloy heads, lightweight camshafts, reinforced engine block. The transmission is the standard AMG enhanced 5-speed automatic with electronically controlled shifting. The unique transmission works with the driver and anticipates gear changes so the car drives smooth. AMG Speedshift is another technological advancement from Mercedes that provides up to 35% faster gear changes and downshifts during braking. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) keeps understeering and oversteering to a minimum with slip control. The acceleration is spectacular with 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and fuel economy for city is 17 while highway is 22 MPG. The interior of these luxury cars will make you want to drive even more. There are 10-way power sport front seats, with 3 position memory. Front seats are heated and fully leather. The Harman/Kardon digital surround sound system is like a concert in the car. Safety has always seperated Mercedes Benz from some car manufacturers and they certainly did a great job in the C55 AMG with dual stage front air bags, head protection curtains for side impact accidents, and a BabySmart system which automatically deactivates the front passenger's front air bag when a BabySmart compatible child seat is installed.

Mercedes C Class Wallpaper and Pictures:

Quite a few sites on the internet offer free wallpaper images of Mercedes Benz cars. You can find quality desktop pictures of Mercedes at Allsportauto.com, New-Dream.de or JBCarpages.com. The Mercedes websites offers a nice photo gallery on every model they offer, but not all pictures are wallpaper size (some are) and they have screensavers of the AMG series that you can download for free. Wallpaperworld.com is another site with lots of desktop wallpaper images of cars.

Used Mercedes Benz C Class Cars:

Mercedes Benz is one of the innovators of the Certified Pre-Owned programs whereby they took control of their brand name in the used car circles and helped keep the cars in their lots. They offer a complete diagnostic and inspection of the used cars and supply you with a warranty and roadside assistance if needed. Although you will pay more for a used Mercedes through a dealer, there are some perks that are hard to pass up like the 2.9% financing. Do the math and find out how much a private loan will cost you over 4-5 years and see if you will save money by buying from a 3rd party source. You can find plenty of selection on sites like Ebay Motors, Craigslist.org (that's where I found my Mercedes), or CarsDirect.com. A 2005 used Mercedes C230 with 25,000 miles goes for about $27,000. Mercedes are not cheap, but the craftsmanship makes them worth the extra money with few problems.
