Reviews of the 2006-2007 Mercury Cars - Milan - Montego - Grand Marquis:
The new 2006 Mercury Milan comes with a responsive v6 and starts at $21995. The fuel economy is quite good with 21 city/29 hwy. The Milan offers four models - the I-4 Milan, V-6 Milan, I-4 Premier, and the V6 Premier which tops out at $23495. We picked the V6 Premier as the best in class for the Milan with leather seats, ABS, and a "personal safety system". The 2007 Montego offers a roomy interior, great gas mileage and plenty of safety features in a midsize sedan. The Luxury FWD Montego starts at $25130 and offers an ample v6 engine with dual zone electronic automatic temperature control. The Luxury AWD Montego goes for $26980 and adds litte to the base model, but the Premier FWD at $27580 is superior with leather seats, cd changer, heated front seats and more. The top end model is the All Wheel Drive Premier for $29430.
If we had to choose just one model from Mercury, we prefer the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis with its "supreme comfort, space and style" and wood and leather trimmed accents. The car is easy to drive and is comfortable enough for longer road trips. The 25 MPG highway will help cut down on gas expenses as well. The Grand Marquis comes in a GS, GS Convenience, LS Premium, and LS Ultimate options. The Grand Marquis LS Premium offers a V8 engine for plenty of power and all the luxuries of high end sedans for just over $30K. The one thing we wish would change is the look of the car, it's a little old fashioned for our tastes. Mercury Mariner and Hybrid:
Need an SUV for hauling your stuff (bikes, boats, kids), but want something that fits around town as well. The Mercury Mariner is the perfect small SUV with good gas mileage (22 city/26 hwy). There are 6 models to choose from which makes it a little confusing since there is not a lot of difference between them all. At $25650 the Mariner Luxury V6 4WD is our favorite with plenty of cargo space and a 200 hp v6 perfect for the small family. The new 2006 Mariner Hybrid is what Mercury has been looking for and it hits the mark. With improved gas mileage and an Earth friendly tone, the Mariner Hybrid should be a good seller for Mercury even into 2007 as more hybrids enter the SUV market and make it competitive. MSRP on the Mariner hybrid is $29840.
Mercury SUV and Minivans - Mountaineer - Monterey
The Mercury Mountaineer is a midsize SUV with premium amenities like DVD Entertainment System and a sporty automatic transmission. The 4 models are the Convenience, Luxury V-6, Luxury V8, and Premier. The Mountaineer Premier is priced under $34K with all the luxury and comfort you want plus the power and torque to do all the tedious work. When compared to other SUV's in its class the Mercury Mountaineer performs quite well. The Mercury Monterey is their minivan with plenty of space and safety features for the growing family. To keep things simple, Mercury offers one version of the Monterey with an MSRP of $29325. With 200 hp and a V6 engine, the Monterey minivan can keep up with all its competition. We still feel there are lower priced minivans on the market that perform just as well.
