Reviews of the 2006 Toyota Corolla - 2007 Toyota Corolla:

The Toyota Corolla has been around a long time and remains a hot seller for Toyota as they have slowly taken away market share from Ford and GM over the last 5-10 years. The 2006 Toyota Corolla CE ($14105) is the bare bones model with few extras, but you do get the standard 1.8 liter 16-valve WT-I 4 cylinder engine with 126 horsepower. You can upgrade to a 4-speed automatic transmission, but the 5-speed manual overdrive is standard equipment. The manual transmission delivers 32 city and 41 highway mpg which is what the American public needs to consider in the current gas crisis. Smaller cars like the Toyota Corolla don't give up much on safety with front and rear crumple zones, airbags, and anti-theft engine immobilizer. The warranty is a touch skimpy at 36 months/36,000 miles on all components and 60 months/60,000 miles on the powertrain (engine, transmission, etc). The Corolla S is the hot seller in this model, please read below for more on it.

The 2007 Toyota Corolla S is just $1000 more than the Corolla CE, but with added features like fog lamps and optional moonroof, the Corolla S seems like a completely different model. The Toyota Corolla LE ($15315) has remote keyless entry system with lock, unlock and panic features. You can also get a nice 6 disc in dash cd changer with eight speakers that is all part of an option package. The XRS has a larger engine - get up to 164 horsepower with the 6-speed manual overdrive transmission for a sporty feel and performance. Mileage drops to the mid 20's for city and mid 30's for highway and the price jumps to $17880 for the loaded Toyota Corolla XRS. For a more in depth look into interiors, exteriors, mileage, engine performance and safety features, see Toyota.com. The 2007 Toyota Corolla promises to be a huge hit with improved gas mileage, more features, and perhaps a hybrid model someday will be offered. Rumor has it the 2008 model of the Corolla may offer a hybrid version.

Toyota Corolla vs Ford Focus vs Nissan Sentra vs Honda Civic vs Mazda 3:

So you think you want to buy a Toyota Corolla, but you haven't sized up the competition. The Ford Focus, Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic and Mazda3 are all in the same class and price range as the Corolla. Only Toyota offers stability control, daytime running lights, and MPG over 30 both city/highway. When looking further into crash test safety features, only the Toyota scores an excellent on both driver and passenger side. Toyota literally has advantages against all these so called competitors and that is one reason they are slowly taking market share in North America from the other manufacturers. The Civic continues to sell really well, but the Ford Focus lacks so many standard features that the others offer, you wonder what American car makers are thinking. You can do a great side by side comparison report on performance, ratings, cost, features, and measurements at Edmunds.com. Up to 4 cars can be compared at once with easy to read charts.

Used Toyota Corollas - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Alright, maybe a new car isn't within your budget or you don't want to pay $1000's more just to have a new car. That's probably a good idea since a new car owner will lose a large chunk of their investment the second they drive off the car lot with a new car. You can pick up a used 2005 Toyota Corolla for about $15000 with less than 20K miles. Automotive.com has tons of listings for 2003 Toyota Corollas, 2002 Corollas, and 2000 Toyota Corollas. Each includes photos, mileage, year, model, type, price, and color. Just scroll through the listings until you find something that suits your eye. To find cars in your local area, we also suggest using a newer site called Craigslist.org which offers much more than cars, but at least you can "search local" on their site. Of course, like all the other manufacturers of cars, Toyota is now offering a certified pre-owned program where they offer used cars on their website and at your local dealership.

Toyota Corolla Parts - Body Kit:

The nice thing about owning a Toyota is that parts are plentiful and cheap on the older models. You can find Toyota Corolla parts at DiscountToyotaParts.com, InnerAuto.com, or Autopartswarehouse.com. We found a complete inventory of parts for the 2005 Toyota Corolla, 2004 Toyota Corolla, 2003 Toyota Corolla, 2002 Toyota Corolla, 2001 Toyota Corolla, 2000 Toyota Corolla, 1999 Toyota Corolla, and all the other years dating back 1986. A popular feature that many people put as an aftermarket add-on to Toyota Corollas is a body kit. We found an excellent website that lists over 11,000 body kit applications and has plenty for your Corolla. The front bumper is about $330, side skirts are $284, and rear bumper is $331 or you can get the whole kit for $664. They offer other accessory items like hoods, fenders, grills, wings, brakes, lights, and wheels.
