Reviews of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta - 2006 Volkswagen Jetta:
The 2007 Volkswagen Jetta comes in 5 options - with the cheapest being the Value Edition for $17900. The Value Edition Jetta offers a new chrome grille, 16" alloy wheels, power side mirrors with blinkers, rain sensing wiper system, and power glass sunroof. The interior has 8-way programmable seats, dual-zone Climatronic, split rear folding seat, in-dash 6-CD Changer, and airbags. In terms of car safety, the VW Jetta earned the best overall crash-test ratings of any car in its class. The 2.5L 150 hp engine will give you the speed and acceleration you need on road trips and around town. The VW Jetta 2.5 offers the same engine with standard features like dual chrome exhaust pipes, all season tires, anti-theft wheel locks, premium sound system, fully carpeted/lined luggage compartment, and fuel mileage of 22 city/30 highway. Top speed is estimated at 130 MPH. The 2007 Jetta TDI goes for $21605 and is a diesel style car. The VW Jetta TDI seats 4/5 comfortably with and comes with a standard 5-speed manual transmission (with optional 6-speed automatic Direct shift Gearbox with Tiptronic mode. The diesel engine gets 35 city/42 highway MPG.
We really like the 2007 Jetta 2.0T for $23590. YOu get a 2.0L Turbo engine - 4 cylinder inline turbocharged with intercooler. The cast iron cylinder block and aluminum alloy cylinder head make the engine durable and powerful. Seating capacity is for 5 and the car is considered a compact. There is ABS on all 4 wheels, and the car accelerates from 0-60 in about 7 seconds. That's not bad at all for a Jetta and that is why we enjoyed driving it so much. The performance (acceleration and handling) were superior to other cars in its class and the price was reasonable. As with all Turbocharged cars, be prepared to replace a turbo much faster than the rest of the car parts. The GLI at $23790 is the sporty Jetta in the group and this sedan does have it all. You get 200 hp from this front wheel drive car and excellent cornering with performance tires. We have always liked the Jetta series from VW since they give you a feel of driving a sports car for much less than what you would pay for other manufacturers. If we had the money, we would buy the Passat, but the Jetta does manage to hold its own in road tests, crash tests, and consumer reports. Buying a pre-owned or used VW Jetta is a great idea. Automotive.com is our favorite used car site with VW Jetta's going back to 1980.
