While the Xbox came out first and got an early start, the Sony PS3 has made up for its late delivery with a bunch of top-rated games. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 continue to put out "exclusive" games, that is, games that play only on their gaming platform, and some of our favorite PS3 games fall into this category -- you just can't get them anywhere else. In this guide, will run down our list of the best PS3 games as of 2009/2010 - we'll update as more are released, but if you haven't tried the ones in this list, give 'em a shot. Since we like the XBox 360 as well, we'll also link to an up-to-date list of the Top 10 Xbox 360 games here  .

: single and coop modes, this shooter sets the standard for combat games -- this latest version really raises the bar.
: the original AC was good, but this new version really expands the story.. Find yourself in Renaissance Italy, exploring Florence and Venice, delightfully rendered as you run and jump from rooftops and towers. Oh yeah, you still have to kill people as you develop into an assassin.
: a "explore and save the city" type game like GTA or an older favorite of mine, Crackdown. You survive some sort of a blast and start assuming electrical powers. A twist to the game is that you can choose to play as a good or evil player. But basically, it's a lot of running, climbing, jumping, and shooting (no driving). We've had hours and hours of fun and challenge with this one.
- a combination action/stealth game, all wrapped-up in knock-your-socks-off graphics, this one is a winner. Everything is done right here, from the voices and story to the weapons and characters. Surely one of the best PS3 games ever.
- in the spirit of the original Mario Brothers games, Little Big Planet is just plain fun, inventive, and like nothing you've ever seen. Guide Sackboy (or Sackgirl) through levels of ingenious challenges, with great music, animation, and designs. Probably better for the pre-teen group, still fun for all ages.
- how does living an Indiana Jone's adventure sound? That's what this game is like -- shooting, jumping, climbing, driving jet skis and jeeps, solving puzzles in jungle temples -- it's all here. Acting and voices are perfect for the genre, graphics a delight. Can't wait for the second Uncharted title coming out in 2010. UPDATE: Wow, it's here in 2009 -- 
- like playing an action movie!
- this franchise has been around for a long time. Assume the role of a street thug and fulfill missions as you open up the city for exploration. Lots of running, driving, shooting -- this one is still the grand champ of this genre.
- a medieval adventure that requires as much brain as braun. As an assassin, stealth and secrecy are your weapons. Cities and towns look great. Plenty of action and challenges.
- no list would be complete without a music title, either

) - one of the first and best titles for the PS3, this first person shooter pits you against the alien Chimera forces. Some people like the original better than the sequel -- we suggest starting with Resistance 1 first.
- another first person shooter, this time on a foreign planet Helghan. Graphics are better than the Resistance games, and gameplay is pretty typical of the genre -- overall very good. Online multi-player mode is fantastic. One of the most popular Playstation 3 games out there.
- Washington DC destroyed by nuclear war. Hundreds of years later, you emerge to a world with a lot of strange mutants... Very big game with lots to explore, very good graphics.
- Ratchet is a fox-like creature, Clank is a mini-robot he carries on his back -- they work as a team to defeat enemies and solve puzzles, and you control both at different times. Like a cartoon come to life, the whole Ratchet and Clank series have been innovative and fun to play from start to finish. Lots of great worlds to explore, lots of great weapons -- what more can you ask for?
-- fight the empire. The animation and art work are anime-style, like a painting come to life. There is turn based combat as in most RPG games, takes some getting used to, but a very compelling game overall.
