Latest Fujitsu Lifebook Notebook Computers and Laptops
Fujitsu has long been a leader in both design and technical specs in the world of laptop computing. From their light weight ultra portable notebooks to their tablet PC designs, to their full featured desktop replacement laptops, their product line is very broad. The Lifebook series focuses on high performance portable designs. The Fujitsu Lifebook C1320D is a thin, light widescreen notebook, announced in Sept, priced at $1200 and based on the Pentium M processor. The first thing you notice is the 15.4" widescreen XGA diplay. And the weight of 6.4 pounds. Not super lightweight, but makes a good desktop replacement with bays for a variety of optical drives. From their press release: "Exceptional performance is achieved with the powerful IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor with a fast 533 MHz front-side bus, Intel 915GM chipset and fast Serial-ATA hard drives. With both modem and Gigabit Ethernet built in, it's easy to connect to the office network or the Internet at home, school or work. The LifeBook C1320D notebook can also be equipped with integrated Bluetooth wireless technology for connecting to a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone or PDA. Easily transfer digital images and MP3 files with a dedicated Secure Digital card slot, or use the Dual-Layer Multi-Format DVD Writer to backup business data or digital content."
What is the best Fujitsu laptop for me?
One of the newest models from Fujitsu is the Lifebook P1510. This 2.2lb ultra portable laptop has a swivel screen that turns it into a tablet PC. Running a Pentium M processor at 1.2GHz, this notebook is priced just under $1700, complete with 512MB RAM and an 8.9" widescreen LCD display. A recent winner of PC Magazine's Editors Choice Award, the Lifebook 1510 lives up to its reputation. Like most ultraportables with reduced size keyboards, people with large fingers may find the 80% sized keyboard on the P1510 a bit tight. Pointing stick and mouse buttons are well placed, though, making casual use of this portable machine fairly comfortable. This is not a "true" tablet PC, as it does not come with MS Tablet PC Edition of XP. But it does work with the included stylus for both navigation and on-screen writing and note taking. Don't plan on that elusive dream of handwriting recognition - it is haphazard at best. Battery life with the standard notebook battery is just over 2 hours, and with the 56W battery it goes to over 5 hours - not bad.
Fujitsu Lifebook S2110 Laptop Review
Priced at around $1250, the S2110 weighs in at just over 4 pounds. Replacing the earlier S2020 model, this slim machine uses the 1,6GHz AMD Turion processor and includes an optical drive (DVD-ROM, CD-RW) and 512MB RAM in the standard version. A 13.3" screen and 1024x768 resolution makes for a pleasant viewing experience, while the 3 in 1 card reader (for SD, MS, and MS Pro) makes it a nice traveling companion when you need to offload digital pics from your camera.
