I realized the other day that I own 4 computers ( a Dell Desktop, HP Desktop, Gateway Laptop, HP Laptop) and I can't tell you where or when I bought them. My newest computer is my Gateway Notebook which I bought in 2006 at Best Buy for $900.00. Gateway makes a lot of different computers nowadays (laptops, desktops, tablets) and they range in price from $450.00 up to $2000.00 (for the models with all the extras). When I was younger it seemed that computers (especially laptops) were for business people or college students who needed a computer to help with their studies. Today, even kids as young as 5 years old (my nieces and nephews) are internet and computer savy and sometimes own their own computer. Five years old might seem a little young to buy a kid a computer, but it's never to early to start your kids education and we all know that having a home computer can dramatically improve a kids learning ability. We can't say that there is one Gateway computer that is there best model because they all have different functions and capabilities. If you are into video games, a college student, or trying to start a home business, you will need to buy a computer that is designed for your individual needs. I bought a Gateway notebook last year from Best Buy and I have to say that their customer service and support team is great. The first place to start for help is the Gateway website online that is dedicated to tech support, you can find the website at support.gateway.com. The website offers help with downloads, server issues, documentation, installation instructions, and software issues. I only had a problem with my laptop when it came to using my internet wireless, but in the end I discovered it was actually my service providers fault and not Gateway.
