News, Review, and Pictures of the Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 Camera
Sony has long been a leader in the digital camera and camcorder consumer and professional markets. Their Cybershot line of digital cameras have evolved to the level of 8MP, with the DSC-N1, featuring a 3" LCD monitor. With a Carl Zeiss 3X ( +6X digital zoom) optical zoom, you get clean, sharp digital photos that are ready to be blown up and printed at 11X17" or higher. The new Cybershot DSC-M1 is an amazing 5MP stylish rotating camera that also capture Hi-8 equivalent video. "Other features include a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with 3X optical zoom for razor sharp imagery and Sony’s high speed Real Imaging Processor™ LSI for fast start-up and quick shutter response. The camera comes with the Cyber-shot® Station so you can easily transfer images to a USB-equipped personal computer while simultaneously charging your camera’s battery. "
"Sony’s DSC-N1 opens a new world of shooting and sharing, with 8.1 megapixel performance and internal memory that holds up to 500 VGA images for pocket album viewing anywhere, anytime. A huge 3.0" LCD Monitor with Clear Photo LCD Plus technology provides touch-screen convenience for controlling camera functions and searching thumbnail images -- and Free Spot AF lets you focus on a subject by just touching it on screen. Also features Slide Show capability, Carl Zeiss® 3X Optical/6X Digital zoom, 26 MB internal memory for capturing images in-camera, and high-stamina Lithium Ion rechargeable battery."
Their higher end digital cameras include the Cyber-shot DSC-H1 (5MP, 12X optical zoom, larger camera, $500), the DSC-F828 (8MP w/ 7X optical zoom, $900), Cybershot DSC-V3 (7.2MP, 4X zoom, $500), and the DSC-R1 (10MP, 5x optical zoom, $1000). These are part of the Enthusiast line of prosumer cameras.
The Cybershot DSC-P92 is a point and shoot model in the Cybershot line, 5MP of image resolution, using Memory Stick Pro storage cards. If you are upgrading from an existing camera, keep in mind that most Sony products use proprietary memory storage cards (Memory Stick), so you will likely need to make an additional investment in memory storage cards.
