Guide to the Best Law Schools:

If you plan on going to Law School someday, it's a good idea to research what each university offers - class size, cost, location, history. The largest law school based on enrollment is Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan with over 3000 full and part-time students. Other schools like John Marshall Law School (IL) have total enrollment of just under 1500, Loyola Law School 1300, Temple Law School (Beasley) (PA) 1000, Whittier Law School 871, and the smallest is the University of North Dakota with around 225. Cost is another variable that one needs to consider before applying to any law school. The most priciest law school with room & board, books and other expenses included with tuition is Columbia University Law School at almost $40000/year, while Brooklyn Law School (NY) comes in at around $34850 and Brigham Young University (Clark) (UT) at $7450 is the cheapest for private schools. Public law schools can be costly as well with University of Michigan-Ann Arbor topping the list and North Carolina Central University being the cheapest. Out of state tuition fees can kill you, so try to pick something closer to home that will save money.

Harvard is always near the top of the list each year along with Yale and Stanford. If you want admission to Stanford law school, you have about a 7.8% chance of being chosen into the private institution in California. Yale University has been around since 1824 and they accept 6.2% of applicants into their law school with a full-time tuition of roughly $40,000. Harvard has been in existence a while longer than Yale, and accepts a larger % (11.5%) of applicants than most top law schools. The student to faculty ratio at Harvard law school is 11 to 1. They have about 45% of their classes being offered with 25 or less students and 11% with over 100. They do, however, offer over 250 courses after your first year. Yale and Standford are the only other schools who can compete with Harvard in terms of the best student to teacher ratios (both under 10 to 1). The one big difference between Stanford and the Yale/Harvard is location. Having lived in California my whole life (just 20 minutes from Stanford) I would have loved to go back east for college and get a change of scenary. I'm sure the same can be said for kids who grow up on the East coast, they would probably love to come to California for their college years. Either way, branching out beyond your comfort zone is what college is all about, so if you can afford it, go explore the country and try to get accepted into an area you have never been before.

Online Law Schools:

The internet has revolutionized many areas in our lives, and education is one of them. Now many scholars say an online education is not as good as a real college, but that doesn't mean you can't get it anyway. The best online law schools are Concord Law School, Kaplan University, and William Howard Taft University. Concordlawschool.com is the first institution to offer a Juris Doctor (JD) degree earned wholly online via state-of-the-art technology. "Concord provides a rigorous and comprehensive legal education with a personalized curriculum and study program leading to a Juris Doctor (JD) degree on the Internet". Concord Law School works with Kaplan Higher Education to allow people to get law degrees who normally wouldn't have the chance. You can take an online entrance exam and the entry requirements are - "Applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree with a 3.0 grade point average from a regionally or DETC accredited U.S. institution approved by the State Bar of California will be considered for admission to Concord's law programs".
