Hannah Montana TV Show:

You want to talk about superstardome, then just mention Hannah Montana, or should be say Miley Cyrus. Billy Ray Cyrus, her father, used to rock the country music scene a while back with his songs like Achy Breaky Heart. In 2006 his daughter, Miley Cyrus, was cast as Hannah Montana in the TV show on the Disney channel. Miley plays a character who is a regular teenager in the daytime and then has a double life as a famous singer at night. The show has exploded amongst the teenie bopper crowd and even into grammar aged kids too. My daughter who just entered the first grade is a huge Hannah Montana fan and watches the show regularly. I have watched the show a few times to see what type of content is in it and determined it's pretty safe for even a younger child to view. The show has some lessons in life that all kids can learn and the content matter is nothing too complex or adult in nature.

The theme song for the Hannah Montana TV show is "Best of Both Worlds" and Miley Cyrus performs it. In real life Miley Cyrus is currently on the Hannah Montana tour so she can actually sing and perform stage. Some cities are selling out shows in minutes and I've heard of tickets selling for $2500 or more on sites like Ebay. Parents are struggling to get their daughters to the concert without going broke. The TV show airs every week on the Disney Channel with reruns of the first 2 seasons on all the time. If you have a daughter between the ages of 5 and 13 you have probably already heard about the Hannah Montana show. Disney does an incredible job of marketing their products and it appears that the Hannah Montana items like clothing, posters, jewelry, DVD's, CD's, and now the concert tour are doing very well. One of the most popular Halloween costumes this year will be the Hannah Montana look. Just buy a Hannah Montana wig to go with some clothes and you are all set. People are already comparing Miley Cyrus to Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan and I can only hope that she turns out better than those 2 girls have. I think Billy Ray Cyrus, having been through the entertainment world already, will help guide his daughter to a successful career in TV and in music.

I don't think anyone saw the success of Miley Cyrus as a music star, even with the popularity of the Hannah Montana show. The concert dates are selling out so fast and it appears that ticket brokers are gobbling up most of them and then reselling them for a major profit at the expense of parents. I recently checked the show here in Portland, OR and on one ticket site I found seats going for $168 all the way up to $1000. Come on, a $1000 for a Hannah Montana show? Years from now parents will be kicking themselves if they give in to those kinds of prices. You can try going to Ticketmaster.com to find out if the show in your area is sold, otherwise head to Stubhub.com or Ebay to find resellers willing to part with their tickets. I think a nice $18 CD of Miley Cyrus' songs will have to do for my daughter.
