Best Ideas and Reviews On Planning a Pool Party:

Who doesn't love the summertime and all the activities that it brings like a pool party? I just turned 32 years old and last summer was one of the best times of my life as I attended numerous pool parties here in Vegas (the temperature here gets hot and over 115 degrees). Las Vegas is a little different because most of the big casinos here have pool parties during the summer at least once a week (and locals can usually get in for free). If you live in Austin, Los Angeles, San Diego, or even Miami, it doesn't matter as long as you have a pool in your backyard. Having a pool party is a great excuse to get friends and family together to just relax and hang out. On average, you can usually throw a nice pool party for 20 guests for under $1000 which would include food, drinks, games, and other supplies. If you are an adult you can have any kind of pool party you want (wedding pool party, gay pool party, or just the standard swimming pool party). On the other hand if you are going to organize a pool party for a child you want to make sure that you take certain precautions like the ones we listed below. Kids love the summer because they don't have to go to school and when you throw in a few pool parties, you will never see your kids happier. The standard pool party consists of some games, barbecued food, swimming, and of course just laying in the sun. There are ways to get creative though and we tried to review some of the popular ideas that people are doing to spice up their pool parties. Hopefully our research will help you throw the best pool party in your neighborhood this summer in 2007.

Bikini Pool Party:

Do you want to have a bikini pool party? Maybe you live in Las Vegas and want to host a sexy pool party? Whatever city you live in, the summer is a great time to plan that adult pool party and tell your friends to leave their kids at home. Some people even go as far as having a nude pool party, but we wouldn't necessarily recommend that idea as most people don't feel comfortable without a swimsuit on (or some type of clothing). Most people that host a bikini pool party are usually in their mid-20's or teenage years, mainly because as we get older we are less inclined to wanna hang out in a bikini. I live in Las Vegas where they have a couple amazing pool parties and all you see is beautiful girls walking around in tiny thong bikinis. "Rehab" is a pool party that takes place at the Hard Rock, and "Ditch Friday" takes place at the Palms Casino every Friday in summer. Remember to be considerate to all your guests and not to let the party get out of control (sometimes people get a bit crazy with alcohol flowing and women in bikinis). How To Throw a Kids Birthday Pool Party?:

Does your young boy or girl have a birthday coming up this summer? Once your kids are old enough to swim and in school, you should definitely let them have a summer pool party if you are lucky enough to have a pool at your house. Even if you don't have a private pool in your backyard nowadays there are community pools (or water parks) that are usually available for planned events. We found a great website online that covers everything you will need know when it comes time to plan your kids pool party. You can find their website at www.kidspartyfun.com/pages/themes/poolparty.html where you'll find information on everything from games, decorations, food, and even invitations. Young children usually just want to swim and splash around so you probably won't have to worry about buying a bunch of games, but if you want to add some excitement to the party then try kidspartyfun.com/pages/activities.html. The website has details on every kind of party game you can imagine. As we mentioned below, please remember to hire a lifeguard or get other parents to help watch the pool and children. The last thing you need at a b day party is a tragic event because some poor child was not properly watched.

7th & 8th Grade Pool Party:

Do you have a child in 7th or 8th grade (junior high school)? I remember being in junior high and as summer approached we all would anticipate the pool parties that our wealthy friends were going to have. Kids in 7th and 8th grade are usually just starting to notice the opposite sex so a summer get together is a great way to encourage your child to interact with others in a safe environment. An 8th grade pool party (or graduation pool party) is almost like a right of passage for kids before they enter high school at the end of summer. If you happen to own a house that has a pool then throwing a school pool party for your son or daughter is really not that expensive. We listed some of the main things to consider when planning your pool party to help avoid any major problems.
  • send out your invitations early because there are a lot of activities in the summer for kids to do and you want to make sure that your child doesn't end up without any friends at his big party
  • hire a lifeguard or get a couple of parents to volunteer to help watch the pool as kids play - you don't want any accidents
  • if you bbq and make most of the food yourself you can save $100's on your budget - catering for 20 or 30 kids can add up
  • make sure to invite an equal number of boys and girls because you don't want the kids feeling out of place
  • hiring a dj or band is a great way to provide live entertainment at a reasonable price
  • plan the party according to where you live and the weather that your city usually gets, you don't want any rain showers
  • plan a variety of activities (games, swim competitions, music, food) to make sure nobody gets bored
  • ask the parents to supply their children with a bathing suit and towel - you don't want to supply 30 towels for all the guests

Pool Party Invitations / Games / Supply:

Once you pick the date for your pool party you are going to have to make the invitations and figure out what kinds of games and activities you are going to have. When it comes to making up the invites we recommend you check out www.mygatsby.com where you can semi-custom design your party invitations and get a package of 20 for only $28.00. Another option is to just email some sort of invitation to all your friends, but I personally would recommend the old fashioned method of mailing the paper invitations. As far as deciding on what games to play at your party it's always a safe bet to stick with water volleyball, or some sports game where 10 or 20 people can be involved at the same time. You can usually find a sports water game (basketball, volleyball, tennis, etc.) at any local pool store for under $35.00. If you want to go all out and need other supplies like balloons, a cake, banners, tiki straws, and wearables (hats, sunglasses, etc.) then try online at www.shindigz.com.
