The Killers History, Band, and News:Do you like the Killers? Are you a fan of the biggest band ever from Las Vegas? I live in Las Vegas and I have to admit it took me a few years to get into The Killers. The basic story of the band is that they formed in Vegas over 5 years ago while mostly playing cover tunes in dive bars around town. Most local residents say that Brandon (the lead singer) was a very private person and never really got into the whole music scene in Las Vegas. Eventually the band convinced Flowers to join their band and make his way into music and being an artist. After a few years of playing the local clubs in Las Vegas The Killers got a break, signed a record label and the rest is history. The Killers debut album "Hot Fuss" was a big success and sold over 5 million copies worldwide, while their new album "Sams Town" is also doing well (side note the album was recorded at the Palms Casino recording studio). At the moment The Killers are one of the biggest (and best) bands in the world and all of us local Vegas residents wish them the best for years to come. It is hard to categorized the band as far as their musical style goes, although they have been called alternative, rock, emo, and even just artistic. I just consider the Killers to be a good band and would recommend all music fans check them out.
Where can I buy Killers Dvds, Merchandise, Concert Tickets?:I just bought a live dvd on ebay.com that has video footage of The Killers in Europe from a few years ago (and it is awesome). Buying dvds online can be risky because if the product is no good it can be hard to get your money back (in a return or exchange). On the other hand websites like ebay offer a huge archive of merchandise for sale on and you can find great deals on cds, t shirts, hats, posters, magazines, etc. Normally a t shirt on ebay will sell for about $20 - $50 just depending on the style and logo on the shirt. Older vintage stuff tends to cost a little more money, and if you are a big fan of The Killers then what is an extra $25. Do you want to buy concert tickets to see The Killers live? There are hundreds of websites online that sell concert tickets, but I would recommend you check out craigslist.com where you can browse through ticket ads in your local city. Craigslist is a local classified site and usually you can find tickets to any event or concert in the country. In October of 2006, The Killers played an outdoor show in Las Vegas and I found tickets on craigslist for $60 (mind you I waited till the day before the show to buy them so I got a better deal).Killers Fan sites and Photos - Pictures:Do you want to build a fansite for the Killers? With success comes adoring fans who want to download music and buy merchandise like posters, t shirts, albums, etc. The Killers have built up a huge fanbase which is evident by the number of fansites online dedicated to the band. The best fansite we found was thekillersfansite.com where you can get recent band news, interviews, photos and pictures to download, tour dates, videos, and even a way to interact with other fans. My favorite photos of the band are the group shots (usually used for promo stuff), or their live pictures taken when they are playing a concert. Best Killers Songs and Albums - Killer Lyrics and Downloads:The Killers have become an overnight sensation with music fans, a large part of their success can be attributed to their lyrical content. Brandon is the main songwriter for the band and he has grown into quite a lyricist over the years. The Killers have had some great songs, but we think their best ones are "Somebody told me", "Bones", When We Were Young", "Mr. Brightside", and "Read My Mind". They have only releases two albums so far, "Hot Fuss" and "Sams Town", but they have already sold over 5 million albums worldwide to date. I love The Killers and just recently saw them at a big concert in Las Vegas (outdoor show at Sam Boyd stadium) and it was awesome.
