The age old question for men has always been - "Boxer or Briefs?" when it comes to underwear. Mens underwear is more fashionable than you might think. Over the years we have seen male models with Calvin Klein underwear and most recently Michael Jordan took on Hanes mens underwear as a sponsor and we still see his commercials on TV. The men's underwear business is huge (in the billions) - I personally own about 12 pairs myself. Depending on your style - you may choose to wear a combination boxer brief which is quite popular these days. It's really the best solution for many men as boxer briefs offer up comfort, support and they work great under almost all types of clothing. The biggest drawback to mens underwear are those designs that are too tight and constrictive. Those that are involved with athletics have shyed away from boxers and preferred the classic briefs, but todays athlete can often be found wearing boxer briefs for all the reasons we discussed above. Choosing the best mens underwear - For day to day use under your work clothes, a brief or boxer should do you well. You will find mens undergarments made from cotton, polyester and even silk blends. Boxers are very comfortable and the type of mens underwear that many guys prefer when they are lounging around the house or even when they go to bed at night. Boxers are more like a relaxing pair of shorts - they cover a portion of your thigh and still have the working fly in the front. The tapered boxers give you a tighter fit on the thigh, although you may give up the fly front on this style. Lots of men prefer boxers when going to work with khakis on. The one drawback is that you may find they "ride up" over time and you may have to make a trip to the restroom to adjust them. I like boxers simply because they are offered in lots of solids and plaids. Next we come to the boxer briefs - a style cast between the classic brief and the relaxing boxer underwear. They are tight like briefs but offer a cut like tapered boxers. I prefer these when playing sports like tennis or basketball, they provide support and comfort all at once. You get the traditional elastic waistline and a nice fitted thigh. Not necessarily my style, but the latest trend is for men to wear thong underwear or even g-strings. Perhaps taken from European fashion trends, American men are now wearing these - perhaps in the bedroom more than anywhere else. Imagine a speedo bathing suit (as seen on European beaches) on a man, except his butt cheeks are showing. Not always the most flattering image, but definitely one to consider is the situation makes them appropriate. Lastly, you have jock straps or athletic supporters, which are worn under swimsuits and shorts when playing sports. For the best variety in terms of patterns and styles, mens boxers are the way to go. You will find top brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Docker's, and Calvin Klein. Many are sold in 3 packs, although you will still find individual items as well. RECOMMENDED - Go online to Amazon.com where the selection is in the hundreds and you can choose what looks best on you. You can view the most popular men's boxers online here. Most were priced around $10 and some manufacturers offer 3 pair for $25 or so. Hanes boxers are listed, but reviews are only so-so for these. Perhaps you are better sticking with Hanes for their classic briefs (see below). The plaid woven boxers are the best sellers and most come in a large selection of sizes - small, medium, large, ... all the way up to XXXXX large. Your waist size will often determine the size - often you will see sizes that range from 32-34 inches, 36-38 inch waistline, etc. .

Classic Brief Underwear for Men:
Perhaps you prefer the tighter fitting mens briefs underwear. I know they come in handy when playing sports or when I have to dress more formal. Without getting too graphic, I like having the support and solid comfort that they provide me. You don't get the bunching that can occur with boxers and briefs can add sex appeal to any man. Some men feel to restricted in terms of movement in men's briefs, so take that into consideration before purchasing a dozen. The elastic waist will fit snugly and your rear end will be well supported throughout the day. Most come up very high on the thigh and it's hit and miss whether or not they have a fly. The flyless Timoteo Quake classic brief is quite popular, but at $20/each it's a bit pricey. Hanes Briefs are definitely very popular and offer mid-length, full rise, and other styles. Hanes has the most famous name in men's underwear and we suppose that helps account for their dominating sales history in this category. Two of our favorites are Munsingwear briefs and the classic Jockey briefs. Both get excellent reviews from owners as men praise them for fit, comfort, and style.

Mens Thongs - G Strings - Athletic Supporters:

Let's begin with athletic supporters (although some of the old timers call these jock straps). You will find these in almost every boys and mens locker room across the country. They are great for sports like football, soccer, or even basketball in terms of protection and support. You can view the top rated jock straps online here.
