Skagen Watches

The world of luxury watches has not changed that much over the last hundred years. Precision parts, Swiss engineeing, eye-popping designs. Skagen, the Danish watch maker has brought the art of the watch to a whole new level with their ultra-thin design and manufacturing. They've been building watches for 15 years, using stainless steel and titanium to make lightweight, svelte watches built around Japanese quartz movements. They are all priced similarly - from $80-$500, meaning just about everyone can afford them. If you are looking for a heavy, solid watch, you might want to look elsewhere - the Skagen designs are thin, delicate (yet strong), and lightweight. It this guide we will look at some of the most popular men's and women's watches from Skagen and find the best places to buy them, at the best prices.

Skagen Men's Watches

RECOMMENDED - The top selling watch is the Skagen Men's Titanium Black Mesh Watch - you get expert precision and a nice looking watch for under $100. Skagen breaks their mens watches into a few categories - performance, steel, titanium, and leather. The performance watches range from the simple Skagen 380LTMRW for $115 (black titanium case, rubber strap) to the 720LTMLB with Swiss functions and performance, mineral crystal, water resistant to 10 ATM, and water resistant leather strap (limited number and endorsed by Ivan Basso) for $500. The Men's Steel watches are broken into further categories - classic mesh band, slimline mesh band, links, dual time, and pocket watches. The classic watches sell for about $100 each, and the band is a metal mesh that fits comfortably on the wrist without pinching or pulling hairs. In our tests, we've found the clasp design to be weak in these, sliding loose and breaking almost 50% of the time. True, $100 is not a terribly expensive watch, but we expect the band to hold up and function for more than 3 months. The links designs are more limited and cost around $125. We like the 572LSXM model with "Large round stainless steel case with gray metal dial and 12 chrome indicators. Stainless steel link band. Water resistant up to 3 ATM". Good looking watch. See the best selling mens Skagen watches on Amazon here.

Skagen also sells women's watches, in steel, leather, studio, and diamond designs. For about $100 you can get a $100 Skagen's womens watch, the 590SSLB. This comes with a slim classic leather black band and a stainless steel case. If you are looking for something a little racier, check out the Skagen Women's Strap / Gold Tone Watch in polished gold plate and leather - you get all this bling for $90. The square gold plated case has a white leather strap with gold studs and designs, and a Mother of Pearl dial. Also available with bronze or black leather strap. We like the more simple, elegant line of their women's steel watch collection. The stainless steel look can be yours for about $75, complete with steel horizontal link bracelet strap and a polished steel bezel. You can browse the most popular womens Skagen watches on Amazon.

Where to buy Skagen Watches

You can buy Skagen watches at many retail and online locations. We like eWatches.com as an online vendor (they run a store front in Utah as well). They sell all kinds of watches, not just Skagen -- Bulova, Chase-Durer, Citizen, Ecclissi, Festina, Giantto, Longines, Luminox, Mondaine, Movado, Pulsar, Reactor, Seiko, Swiss Army, Tissot, Tommy Bahama, Torgoen, Whittnauer, etc. They sell only brand new watches, complete with manufacturers warranty. They offer free sizing and free ground shipping, and orders placed before noon go out the same business day -- what's not to love! When it comes to Skagen, they carry hundreds of mens and womens watches to choose from. We of course love and trust Amazon.com as well, and they also offer a huge selection of Skagen watches. One of our favorite looks is the Black Men's Titanium Watch, priced at $75. The face is divided into quadrants with a graphite fiber finish over the charcoal color - very cool looking. Finally, check out WatchZone.com if you are shopping for a Skagen design watch. WatchZone also carries just about every brand of watch (looking for a Barbie watch? they have it!). Their standard shipping is 2nd day Fedex, which costs about $10.
