Free Printable Coupons - Supermarket Coupons

When it comes to saving money when you shop, coupons are the way to go. We are all used to seeing the coupons we get in the mail and in Sunday newspapers - save $1 on Tide detergent, 50 cents off coupon for dog food, buy 1 get 1 free coupon for coffee. But the internet is another source to get free printable coupons that will save you money on groceries, drug store items, and more. We review the best coupon websites below. Check it out. Keep in mind that most coupon sites you find online are trying to make money from you somehow - either by selling or renting your contact information, getting paid by promoters to bring them interested customers, etc.

For free printable coupons, check out HotCoupons.com. They have a very easy to use site, just plug in your zip code and up comes offers in your area. For example, it will show you dry cleaners nearby, one of which was offering a coupon for $10 off on each of your first 6 visits. Or a tanning salon coupon that offered 2 for 1 tan packages with a printable coupon. They do not offer much in the way of free grocery coupons - it is targeted more at local services and businesses in your areas. In fact, these same people also put together many of those Money Mailers you see in your mailbox, so they are used to working with local businesses all around the US.

Coupon Websites

A good website for free coupons is CoolSavings.com. They've been around for a LONG time, with their famous pig in sunglasses logo. Over 34 million shoppers have registered with them, getting online grocery coupons, beauty coupons, travel and restaurant coupons, and more. Most can be printed right from your computer, and come complete with the normal barcode you are used to seeing - they can be redeemed at all the normal retail stores. Their service comes with a piece of software called Coupon Manager which handles the printing of coupons. A number of anti-spyware programs block installation of the software and you have to work around it. They do require user registration, and their site is pretty secretive - they don't really describe how they work, what they offer, or what is required from you - they just slap up a signup form on each page and start asking for a lot of personal information, which I think will turn off many users. If you cancel your membership, all your personal information is removed from their database.

Once a member, you will have access to printable coupons for special offer in your area - restaurants, stores, etc. They also have online coupons that connect you to savings directly from online stores. Personally, I'd like the site to be easier to use and without so much personal information required - no personal info is required when I get groceries coupons in the newspaper.

Ebates.com is another popular online coupon site. Ebates offers coupons, discount, and rebates from all kinds of shopping partners - books and magazines, office supplies, Sears, travel savings coupons, Apple Store (1% cash back coupon), Gap, Home Depot, airfare, and much more. "Ebates is all about saving money and getting Cash Back whenever you shop online. When you become a member and shop through Ebates, you can save literally thousands of dollars every year on the things you're already buying." That's what they say about themselves. You have to first fill out the free membership form before getting access to any free coupons or savings offers. They have a Moe Money Maker software download that will pop-up and tell you if you are eligible for a discount at the site you are shopping on. Ebates gets a commission from the retailer, then they send you a check with your savings. I like the fact that Ebates clearly tells you on their main website about how they work, how you save money, and what the details are. Here are some sample coupons and discounts they offer. 1-800 Contacts, $20-$60 rebate; 4inkjets, 5-10% off coupons and rebate codes; Amazon Toys - up to 60% off on special offers; Amazon coupons for free shipping and money off; Apple Store, up to $100 rebate on computer and printer combos; Bombay Company, coupon for 10% off and free shipping. The list goes on and on, but if you make a lot of purchases online, chances are Ebates will save you some money.
