Paying Your Bills Online:

Are you sick of writing checks each month for the same old bills? There is a solution out there that is definitely worth looking into. Why take the time to write a check for your car payment or house payment when you can set up an automatic bill pay online with your bank. I was tired of taking out the checkbook and paying my bills the old fashioned way, so I recently went online to setup bill pay with my Wells Fargo account. It takes a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the process, but I must say it was way easier than I thought it would have been. Many of the companies that you pay each month are already receiving payments online from millions of other people. Just pick the payee and write in the amount you want to pay. No check to write and nothing to mail. I honestly was sick of putting a $.42 cent stamp on each bill and wasting the money when I could be doing it online for FREE. The great thing is that you can setup automatic bill pay each month so that on a certain day your online account will make a payment for a particular dollar amount to the payee. Set it up once and forget about it - it can't get any simpler than that.
pay bills online

Is online bill pay safe? That was one of my main concerns when I first signed up. I have used automatic withdrawals for my health care, utility bills, and much more for years but I had never done bill pay before. I found the process to be safe and secure online. I have not heard any stories of companies or people abusing the online bill payment systems. A friend of mine originally used the Wells Fargo bill pay service years ago and had a problem with his mortgage getting paid one month, but that was years ago and I think all those electronic payment issues are well gone. What I like is that I can use the payments online at any time of the day and I can login while I'm traveling which is a huge bonus. I don't have to worry about invoices or checks, just login and make a payment in literally a minute or less. It's convenient - avoid late fees or even mail delays (especially during the holidays). You can even get email reminders when payments are due (set that up online) or get confirmation that they have been sent. So far I've been using the bill pay with Wells Fargo for about 2 months and it seems really smooth.

Wells Fargo Bill Pay:

First, Wells Fargo guarantees that Bill Pay is both secure and reliable. Payments are always sent as scheduled with encryption so that your information is safe from hackers. I found the process of setting up payees quite simple. Many are already listed in their directory of businesses and if you don't find the one you are looking for, just set up a new payee. Once you login, the total time to make a payment is a minute or 2 and having automated payments each month means no logging in at all with the same guarantees. You can get all the current details on the Wells Fargo Bill Pay service online at https://www.wellsfargo.com/wfonline/bill_pay/. Wells Fargo has been at the forefront of online payments and I think with their trusted name and technology, almost all their customers will be using payments online in the near future. That's not good news for the United States Postal Office (no more stamps needed), but customers will save time and money.

What is the cost of paying bills online?:

In many cases, consumers will pay absolutely nothing to pay their bills online. In my case, I had an eligible checking account that allowed me to use the Wells Fargo bill pay for FREE. Another way to avoid the monthly fees is to have $5000 (combine minimum balance) in multiple accounts. Even if you have no way to get bill pay without the fees, you should still consider it. For around $7/month Wells Fargo will let you use their bill pay system. The first 2 months are free to try and see how much time it saves you plus the cost of stamps. This article was done in May 2009 and we are hoping that in the future all paying of bills will be done online and for zero or limited cost to the customer. Each bank charges slightly different fees, but check with your banking institution to see what they offer. You will be surprised at how many offer it already for free.
