What are the best sites for playing free online games?:
Online gaming is a huge industry, especially now that computers and the connections to the internet are faster and more capable of handling advanced graphics, sounds, and multi-player scenarios. Free online games are the latest craze offered by many of the largest portals like Yahoo or AOL. They offer the more basis games like online billiards, checkers, backgammon, canasta, or Mah Jong. With the new flash technology you can play games online without having to download and install them to your computer. Those games that you download are usually ad supported (that is how the makers of these games make $$). Games.com is another great site for online shooting games, online adventure games, and online board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Batteship, Sorry, and Yahtzee. Free online kids games can be found at places like Disney or Kidsdomain.com in their games section. My daughter loves the dress up games online for kids that let you play with Barbies and Polly Pocket dolls and dress them into your favorite outfits. No matter what your gaming pleasure, it's easy to find what you are looking for online these days with so much online gaming selection.
Yahoo Games?:
Yahoo games is an excellent site for online gaming with lots of free flash games to play. Choose from their categories - card Games, Board games, Puzzle games, word games, arcade games, mobile games, video games, games from Worldwinner. Yahoo also offers games on demands and tournaments and leagues for the more avid online gamer. For people that want to learn how to play Hold 'em Poker, Yahoo games has a great section where you can watch the action and learn the terminology and how to bet. Yahoo has a new Video games section which offers action, adventure, fighting, racing, role-playing, shooter, simulation, sports and strategy games. You can download demos, patches, and cheats. The Yahoo Mobile games section has games that start at $1.49. You download the games to your cell phone and the one time fee is charged through your wireless carrier bill.
Online Game Rentals?:
If you want a game rental site online that is similar to Netflix, then try GameFly.com. They offer unlimited game rentals delivered right to your door each month for $21.95. You get a 10 day trial for free and then the monthly fees start. Their collection of 3000 game titles cover all game consoles (PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, and PSP). Pick the games you want online, then you will be sent the game in the mail (1 or 2 at a time). When you return the game, you get the next game on your list sent to your house. There is also a site called Gameznflix.com which offers movies and video games for as little as $8.95/month. There selection is not as good as Gamefly, but perhaps it may work for you. With more competition in the field, I'm sure pricing will come down just like it has for Netflix.
