Ab Circle Pro Review - Does It Work?

The Truth about The Ab Circle Pro
These days everyone seems to be looking for the elusive “washboard” stomach. A variety of devices are out on the market promising to tone and shape your abs. If you ever watch tv late at night or early in the morning, you probably have not missed the television infomercials. You can see the television commercial for the Ab Circle pro through this link. Honestly, these commercials can be rather convincing. On television, the products always look so easy to use and show remarkable before and after photos. In fact, the Ab Circle Pro guarantees that you will lose 10 lbs in just two weeks. Of course, there is a money back guarantee if you don't love the product. So you can't go wrong... or can you? We wanted to get to the truth behind the Ab Circle Pro. Is the Ab Circle Pro worth buying? And is it effective at giving you a “sexy shape and flat abs?”

How the Ab Circle Pro Works

So what is this device marketed as “ a treadmill for your abs?” How does the Ab Circle Pro work? This device, which is said to be made out of gym quality steel, also markets itself as having “circular force technology.” You kneel on the machine, hold onto its handlebars and then swing your lower body from left to right on the friction free track. This back and forth motion promises to target your upper, middle and lower abs. It has 3 levels of resistance so people at different levels of fitness can benefit. The Ab Circle Pro also promises that you can dedicate just 3 minutes a day, and you will “aerobically burn fat.” Also the Ab Circle Pro promises to be space saving and convenient, you can fold it store it under your bed easily or in a small closet. You can also convert it to a bun and thigh-burning machine by making a small modification to the machine. If you go to the Ab Circle Pro website (AbCirclePro.com), you can see a bunch of Ab Circle Pro before and after photos as well as read some success stories from people who have used it.

How Much Does the Ab Circle Pro Cost?

You can get the Ab Circle Pro for $14.95, plus $34.50 shipping and handling. The initial investment is $49.45. The advertising, of course, just says $14.95 "plus shipping and handling." When you initially purchase the machine, it is wise to be aware the shipping and handling is more than one might expect. If you are anything like me, this kind of misleading advertising drives you crazy. When you first buy the machine, you also will get a nutritional guide, and workout DVD. Now it is really important to be aware, that $49.45 is still only a fraction of what you will pay. The pricing is actually more confusing as the full payment is $199.75 +34.50 (5 easy payments of $39.95), plus shipping and handling. The fact that the full price is not mentioned in the commercial is definitely misleading. Technically they are saying that the $14.95 is just for the initial trial, but I would guess about 90% of people who see the machine advertised would not understand that there is a payment plan that will take place over 5 months. If you are looking to buy the Ab Circle Pro, you can also get it from Amazon for the same price. However, on Amazon the shipping is free so you will come out $34.50 ahead. Every penny counts, so we definitely recommend saving the pricey shipping costs. You can also buy the machine from Target and Walmart.

Ab Circle Pro Reviews

We surveyed reviews at Amazon.com as well as the media to see what people were really saying about the Ab Circle Pro. Quite a few customers on Amazon.com wrote that the machine instantly broke. Also we saw reports that the paint chipped right off the machine and onto the rollers. Once your rollers are disrupted, they will not roll smoothly, so the machine is virtually unable to work. Other people mentioned that the kneepads cracked immediately and even the wheel chipped. One female reviewer on Amazon.com actually mentioned she was left crying once she got the Ab Circle Pro. Her high hopes to lose weight quickly were crushed. If you are easily demoralized, brace yourself before receiving this machine and be aware that it may not be everything that it promised to be. On Amazon.com, the machine has gotten 64 reviews and is currently just at 2 ˝ stars. If you are questioning this machine's quality, please note that even the people behind the Ab Circle Pro themselves have admitted that the machine has problems. Right now they are distributing a free new set of rollers for units have had roller failure. The manufacturer will give out a free upgraded roller kit if you call 1-800-983-6905.

However, we did find one good thing about the Ab Circle Pro that everyone seems to agree upon. Namely, that the machine is easy to put together. OK, now back to the problems. Another issue that reviewers have with this machine is that it costs $34.95 to ship it back if it is broken. Then you have to pay another $39 to get it back again. So does everyone have a bad experience with the Ab Circle Pro? Actually no. Some people posted positive reviews saying the machine was fun and fast. Of course, those reviews were few and far between. On January 12, 2010, The Chicago Tribune wrote about the Ab Circle Pro. They said that the Consumer Report testers had 13 people and only 3 said they would try it. Also the spokesperson for the machine Jennifer Nicole Lee said she lost 80 pounds due to the Ab Circle Pro. She said it was responsible for her winning the Miss Bikini Diva contest. However, According to the Council of Better Business Bureau's Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program, Lee won this award before the machine was invented. So you may want to think twice before you buy the Ab Circle Pro. If you've got friends that swear by it, test out their unit before buying. Anyways, we'd like to see a product that has a more straightforward pricing structure and that solves basic manufacturing issues before marketing the product. A better solution may be the AbCoaster -- see our Ab Coaster review here.
