Taking Care of Your Feet - Foot Repair Creams

Our feet do a lot of work and take a lot of punishment each day. And in doing so, they can get worn out and beat up. And look that way.. No one wants dry, dirty feet, with cracked heels and soles. They look bad, and they can hurt. Women are especially self conscious about how their feet look, especially during the summer months when sandals and feet-baring shoes are the daily norm. Taking care of your feet can range from pedicures where rough heels are abraded and moisturized, to simple home treatments with foot creams and lotions to soften and repair cracked, damaged feet. You don't have to spend a fortune to help your feet - you can buy foot care creams for less than $10 that help prevent and repair damage to your feel, soles, and heels.

Most Popular Foot Care Creams - Best Foot Care Creams

What are the best foot care creams? A number of companies make special lotions and treatments, designed for feet. The Barielle Total Foot Care Cream is one of the most popular. It comes in a 2oz. jar and retails for around $12. It is supposed to help get rid of calluses and cracked heels and soles. It's made of sunflower oil, sesame oil, beeswax, paraffin, lanolin, and Vit E, so its heavy on the moisturizing component and low on the irritating scale. You rub it into your feet twice a day, and they recommend you cover your feet with warm socks - pretty simple routine for your daily body care. It has won the Allure "Best of Beauty" award as well. Barielle also makes an Intensive Foot Cream with Deep Sea Mud - $20 for a 4oz. jar.

Burt's Beeswax makes it's own line of foot care products. Their Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme sells for less than 10 bucks, comes in a 4oz. tube. It helps prevent and protect your feet from all the standard maladies - cracking, drying, rough skin. It does have a minty (not coconut) smell, and it is kind of sticky compared to other creams, but it gets very good comments from users. Those we talked with raved about Burt's Foot Cream and are very happy with the results they get. AHAVA Dermud Enriched Intensive Foot Cream for Dry Skin is another winner, $24 for a 4.2oz tube. Thick and creamy like the others, coverage with socks is important to let it soak in and not get rubbed off on your carpets, sheets, etc. Some other top foot creams come from makers like Eucerin (Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Foot Creme - $6), Neutrogena (Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Foot Creme - $4 for 2oz.), Got2b Spa Foot, Lubriderm, and Dr. Scholl's Medicated Cracked Heel Relief Cream.

Specialty Foot Creams Reviews

A number of boutique type companies also offer specialty foot care creams and treatments. Kanu.com makes the Suderma Hand & Foot Repair Cream in a nice pump bottle for $16 for 6oz. It has a dual moisturizing system, hydrating dry skin while protecting skin from additional moisture loss and drying. Sephora.com sells the Bliss Foot Patrol product, priced at $26 for a 4.2oz tube - it exfoliates your feet and keeps them cool and soft with peppermint and aloe. They also carry L'Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream, $25 for a 5 oz. tube, to be applied daily after showering. It is ultimately up to you to decide how much you want to spend on your foot care products, and how many different ones you want to buy and test out. We'd recommend starting with one or two of the products listed in the first section above, like the Barielle or Burt's Beeswax. Try it for a month or two, and see the results for yourself. If you are happy, you have a nice $10-$12 product you can keep buying. If they don't work for you, try out some of the more expensive specialty foot care products to see if they work any better. Remember nothing works overnight (although some people claim their feet look a LOT better in only 2-3 days of treatment) - so give it some time before making a decision.
