Wine Rack Reviews and Buying Guide:

If you like to drink wine, then having a wine rack in your residence is essential for wine storage. For the true wine enthusiasts, there are wine cellars, but for the majority of us we just need a nice wine rack to hold our 5-20 bottles of wine. Wine racks come in many different styles - glass, wrought iron, metal, wood, wall mounted, etc. The bottle capacity also varies from rack to rack. We suggest 7-12 bottle wine racks for most people since it's rare you will have more than that on hand at any given time. Even if you have a dinner party and guests bring wine, the wine will most likely be opened and drank that same night so storage over a dozen bottles is rarely needed. You can buy floor standing racks, table top racks, wall wine racks. We went to EWineracks.com to survey their best sellers and we have them listed below.

The #1 seller is the Chateau 24-Bottle Serving Table ($84.99) that doubles as a serving table and storage unit for up to 18 glasses as well. Other favorites are the Metro Wall Metal Wine Rack ($45.99) which holds 8 bottles and stemware, Glass Holder and Wine Tower for $149.99, 28 Bottle Wooden Wine Stand ($56), Classic Wine Butler ($219) - beautiful piece, Metro Floor Metal Wine Rack ($79) - holds 12 bottles and 21 wine stems, Bordeaux Wine Rack ($29.99) - 3 bottle holder that fits any countertop area. There are several bakers racks that also have wine rack storage areas. The top 3 are Camelot Bakers Rack, Scroll Bakers Rack, and Macinac Bakers Rack. All the baker wine racks sell for about $150. The top manufacturers of wine racks are Covington, Blackhurst, Catskill, Enclume, and Vine Maple.

Do I need a wine glass rack?

As we mentioned above, many of the wine racks and baker wine racks come with additional storage for your wine stemware. Wine glasses fit nicely into the racks. However, some of the do it yourself official wine racks that are more for storage don't offer a place for a wine glass.

Wrought Iron Wine Rack:

Nothing shows off your wine better than a wrought iron wine rack. They come in such spectacular styles that there is something for everyone. The most popular models are the Chateau Wine Rack ($49) which holds 23 bottles, Middleton Wine Rack ($99) holds 12 bottles and has a powder coated natural iron finish, Napa Wine Cabinet ($249) holds 30 bottles and has a gun metal grey finish, Stag's Leap Wine Rack ($49) half arch 4 bottle holder - great gift idea, Arch Metal Wine Rack ($39) holds 8 bottles, Calistoga Hanging Wine Rack ($54.99) and has a unique look and style, Barcelona Wine Rack, Alsace Wine Rack, and the Sonoma Wine Caddy ($29) a perfect gift which holds 1 bottle of wine. You can find all types of wine racks online at Winerackstore.com, WineEnthusiasts.com, and WineCabinets.

Wall Mounted Wine Racks:

If you don't have space on the floor or on a table, then try wall mounted wine racks. Wall wine racks are convenient and easy to install. Wine-Wall.com offers a few choices - the wine tube made of stainless steel and holds 12 bottles ($27), board mounted exhibit racks (from 1-6 bottles) and cost from $25-$50. The Hanging Metal Wine Rack ($179) holds 8 bottles and stemware. It's made by Enclume and has a stylish design that is well suited for hanging above kitchen areas. If you want to design a custom wine rack for wall mounting or hanging, give GrottoCellars.com a try. They carry a great selection and their website is very helpful in determining just what you need.
