Tempurpedic Mattress Reviews

By now we've all seen the infomercials for the Tempurpedic Mattress system, made from "space age" materials, promising you better, more comfortable sleep. For most of us, a bed is a bed. It's not until you actually try a new mattress system that you come to appreciate the difference. Sure, sitting or lying down on a Tempurpedic mattress feels different, feels a little strange at first, but is it better? Will you actually sleep better with it? And how much are you willing to pay for that comfort? Bed marketers always point out that we spend almost 1/3 of our lives in bed, so why not invest to make that time the best possible? That's what Tempur Pedic does. Read below for information on their various models, including pricing, and user reviews of Tempurpedic mattresses.

What is Tempur-Pedic? Tempur is a pressure relieving system used in their Swedish Sleep System. It's a soft, spongey kind of material that conforms to weight placed on it and then springs back to its normal state when the weight is removed. When used in a mattress or pillow, the Tempur system allows the bed to adjust to the weight and dimensions of your body, while offering firm support and distributing weight across its entire surface. You've probably seen the commercials where people push their hand into the mattress, leaving an obvious imprint of their palm that slowly disappears when the material resumes its original position. The mattress does the same thing for your entire body .

Buying a Tempurpedic Mattress - Tempur-Pedic Trial

A problem with buying a mattress is that you can't really tell if you like it until you sleep on it for a week or more. Lying down in a store showroom for 10 minutes is NOT the same as tossing and turning for a few nights and seeing how comfortable a mattress really is. Tempur Pedic helps alleviate this problem by offering a terrific 90 day in home trial. That's right, 3 months to try out the mattress right under the very real conditions of your own home. This warranty is only on factory direct purchased mattresses, not on pillows, platforms, or other bedding. They will pick up and haul away the mattress at their cost, your only expense is the initial shipping cost if you decide the Tempurpedic is not for you. However, most people who try it out seem to like it, and it even comes with a recommendation by the Arthritis Foundation. You can also get a free DVD sent to you, explaining and demonstrating the mattress and pillow system. The main Tempur-Pedic website is Tempurpedic.com. A number of other bed and mattress websites also offer the Tempur-Pedic. Check out HealthyBack.com. They are an authorized dealer. They offer the DeluxeBed at $2099 for a queen, which is the same as the direct price listed below. AngelBeds.com sells a competing version based on memory cells, priced at about half of what Tempurpedic costs - consider them if you are looking for something a little less expensive but still like the idea and feel of the memory foam. Some tips on buying a TempurPedic - dealers can't control the price much, but they can throw in extras like free pillows, gift certificates, etc. When it comes to bargaining, go for the extras, because the price is fixed by the manufacturer and there is not much leeway there - that is why you will find them similarly priced wherever you look, online or offline. Tempurpedic Reviews - Tempur Pedic Testimonials

Most people who use Tempurpedic mattresses are enthusiastic about them. They describe "sleeping on clouds", and waking up stress free and "refreshed". A lot of people with chronic back pain also laud the amazing design of the mattress, amazed that they now sleep more comfortable at night. Others complain that is has a slab-like feel to it and is not soft and welcoming like a traditional pillow-top mattress. Others like the fact the you can move around with disturbing your partner every time you toss or turn or adjust your position (you've probably seen the demos with the wine glass - you can bounce on the bed without knocking over the glass). The return rate on these beds is reportedly around 10%, indicating that the vast majority of people who try them like them. Of course, the experience of any product is subjective, and if you read reviews of the Tempurpedic mattress you usually find only the good ones, so ultimately you need to try it for yourself.

How much do Tempur Pedic Mattresses cost? Tempurpedic Prices

The Tempurpedic mattress systems are not cheap. Scanning their website as of May 2014, we found their classy Grandbed Queen Tempurpedic available for $5499, King for $6199. The GrandBeds use Tempur-HD materials (higher density) for even better support and pressure relieving comfort. The complete set comes with a matching platform foundation and blended silk cover. The DeluxeBed Queen is $2099, coming in at 60" x 80". The Deluxe is about 2 inches thicker than the Classic Tempurpedic, and includes their Dual Airflow System. The ClassicBed by Tempur-Pedic is priced at $1599 for the queen, $1999 for the king size. The Original Bed is priced at $1199 for the queen mattress, $1499 for kind. As you can see, Tempurpedic prices are generally more than comparable standard mattress and box springs we are used to. So you will not be saving money by buying a Tempur-Pedic, but you just might sleep better and spend every day more relaxed and rested. Given the fact that the average mattress set is used for over 10 years, the difference spent on buying a midrange Tempur pedic mattress system might well be worth it. The higher end packages are so much more expensive than normal mattresses, we can't recommend them unless you are an existing Tempurpedic customer and know and love and swear by their products, and know that you want the priciest, fanciest system they offer. If you are a first time customer, we can't justify spending $6000 on a new kind of mattress that you might not be crazy about, even with the in-home warranty.
