Just east of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado lies the beautiful city of Denver. It's called the Mile High City since it sits at roughly 1 mile above sea level. Highway I-25 runs north to south through the city and I-70 splits it from east to west. The downtown Denver region is great for singles and couples without kids and there are excellent lofts and apartments right in the thick of things. As you will see below we like the Governor's Plaza and Denver Lofts along with Capitol Heights if you want to be downtown. Some of the surround towns include Englewood, Aurora, Lakewood, Thornton, and Westminster. Denver is still considered "affordable" and apartment rents have stayed around $650/1 bedroom. Weather can be snowy and cold during the winter months so if you don't like driving in bad weather conditions, try to find a place as close to your work as possible. Many of the apartment complexes we looked into have 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom units. The housing rental market is a bad option either with some good deals on decent sized houses for rent. When you do eventually talk with a property/apartment manager, make sure you ask about square footage, closet size, pool access, parking, fitness rooms, pets (allowed or not), and deposits required. Most apartments will require a 1 year lease although you can get short term housing if you are willing to pay a premium on your monthly rent. We suggest by looking online first at sites like Apartments.com or Rent.com to see what's available and how much rents are in areas you prefer. Then make some calls and stop by to see the units in person. NEVER agree to anything in writing before you see the apartment you will be renting.
The cost of living is moderate in the Denver Metro area, and 1 BR apartments will normally set you back $650 or more per month. Below are listings for some Denver Apartment Rentals.
