Finding an Apartment in RaleighRaleigh, North Carolina is a beautiful city with lots of choice when it comes to apartments. Nearby Durham and Chapel Hill are college towns with students attending both Duke and North Carolina University so housing can be tough when you close to those campuses. As for Raleigh, the I-40 highway runs through the city with the 440 freeway as a kind of loop that goes around the city. Cary, NC is a great place to live if you want a short commute into downtown or if you are attending NC State. We suggest starting your apartment search online at Rent.com or Apartments.com to find local apartment complexes or buildings that fit your needs - location, bedrooms, amenities. Then do a simple drive by in the neighborhoods you are considering to see how safe they look, are there stores nearby, etc. Get on the phone with the property or apartment manager to discuss further details of floor plans, are pets ok, do you get a parking spot, and what is the deposit on the unit. Hashing out those details will save you time and allow you to view more apartment rentals by weeding out the ones you know you aren't going to like beforehand. We also suggest going to Craigslist.org which is a wonderful site that has apartment and condos for rent, many are subleases too. Raleigh is still very affordable and housing won't set you back nearly as much as living in the northeast or west coasts.
