The I-95 highway runs through Richmond with the 295 freeway running along the eastern side of town. Before you head out to look at any potential apartment, give the manager a call to ask pertinent questions like bedroom size, # of bathrooms, are pets ok, pool on site, etc. Then do a simple drive by in the area to check out the neighborhood and surrounding streets, shopping malls, parks, etc. Then make an appointment to stop in and see the apartment. Discuss details like deposit, when the rent is due, how are the tenants next door, quiet hours, and whatever else you can think of.
