Salt Lake City is in the northern section of the state of Utah near the great Salt Lake. Provo is south and Ogden is just north but there are plenty of smaller towns that surround Salt Lake City like Bountiful, Sandy, West Jordan, Cottonwood Heights, and Taylorsville. Finding an apartment is rather easy with plenty of options - 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, even 3 bedrooms. The logical place to start is on the apartment finder websites like Rent.com or Apartments.com where you can quickly survey availability, prices, and see photos or maps of locations. I also highly recommend using Craigslist.org since they cater to locals and offer up lots of selection as well including subleases. Of course, if you can find the actual website for an apartment complex or building, they probably have the most up to date photos, contact info, and availability listed on their site. We have listed quite a few below to help you on your search. Once you have decided on an area you want to live in, find out about the apartment complexes that exist in that area and start calling the property or apartment managers to ask some questions. Find out about available floor plans, are there parking spaces, do they allow pets, what dimensions are the bedrooms and bathrooms, is there a pool/spa on site, etc. Once you have most your questions answered, then arrange an appointment to go out and have a look. Be sure to notice the neighborhood in terms of safety, conveniences like shopping centers, and street parking. Salt Lake City is still very reasonable in terms of rent costs for apartments and if you can handle it, having a roommate in a 2 bedroom unit is much cheaper than trying to live by yourself in a 1 bedroom or studio apartment.
The cost of living is moderate in the Salt Lake City Metro area, and 1 BR apartments will normally set you back $600 or more per month. Below are listings for some Salt Lake City Apartment Rentals.
