Finding an Apartment in San AntonioSan Antonio is an up and coming city that is very affordable, especially when renting an apartment or condo unit. The I-10 and I-35 freeways cut right through the city and the 410 does a loop around the surrounding areas. Living downtown near the Riverwalk or the Alamodome can be inviting but don't give up on the outlying towns such as Windcrest, Alamo Heights, Leon Valley, Kirby, or Live Oak. When you search online at apartment finder websites like Apartments.com or Rent.com try to focus your searches to areas that you are find desirable and liveable. Don't waste your time looking at apartments in regions you wouldn't necessarily want to reside in. Craigslist is another excellent website with hundreds of apartments listings online and many have sublease opportunities. Try to talk to the apartment or property manager in advance to check on floor plans, are pets ok, onsite amenities, deposits required, parking places, etc. San Antonio is growing but commutes are still reasonable so living a few minutes from the city center is not bad. You will find that rents will be cheaper the further you get from the main downtown region.
