Atlanta Falcons Information and History:The Atlanta Falcons were a forgotten franchise just a few years ago with the dog fighting trial of Michael Vick and the subsequent prison sentence for their star quarterback. Michael Vick was just released from prison but the Falcons are happy with Matt Ryan - the current quarterback. The Atlanta Falcons had some success with Steve Bartkowski and then during the Deion Sanders years, but nothing compared to the recent rise, until Vick was found guilty in court and had to leave the team. The current group in Atlanta includes Matt Ryan, the quarterback from Boston College, Jerious Norwood (Running back) from Mississippi State, and Brian Finneran at wide receiver. The team is surprisingly doing very well in 2009 and could compete with the Panthers and Bucs. The off season pickup of perennial all-star tight end Tony Gonzalez should add more firepower to the offense. Their official website is Atlantafalcons.com and it is loaded with stats and analysis of the current season and features news, rumors, injury reports, and the latest schedule showing upcoming games. Past players on the Falcons have included Warrick Dunn, TJ Duckett, Alge Crumpler, and DeAngelo Hall. Perhaps someday Michael Vick will return from his stint in prison and lead the team again.
Atlanta Falcon Cheerleaders - Wallpaper Images and Calendars:The main Falcons website has a section dedicated to the girls who cheer each week on the sidelines. The Atlanta Falcons cheerleader section has information and pictures in categories like - appearances, swimsuit calendar, auditions, history, and current news. The wallpaper size photo of the 2009 Atlanta Falcon cheerleader squad allows you to download it to your desktop. The photos date back to 2004 in their archives so take a look at all of them when you get a chance. There was a 2006 Atlanta Falcon Cheerleader Calendar for about $15 but we could not find it anymore. Better yet is an alumni cheerleading page with photos of previous years Falcons cheerleaders dating back to 1968 - check it out HERE.
Fan sites - Which ones are best?:A team always can figure out their popularity based on how many quality fan sites exist online. The Atlanta Falcons have plenty. The best we found was at Falconsrule.com. Excellent collection of stats, forums, ticket info, current standings, trade rumors, etc. Falcfans.com is another great fan site dedicated to keeping all the Atlanta Falcon fans up to date on team injuries, rumors, and live chat forums where you can discuss your favorite players and see what other fans think.The latest site is called FalconRoost.com - it has an MP3 music file for the "Fly High Falcons" tune and the forums are loaded with messages and comments about players, teams, and the future.The Falconfanatics.com is another site dedicated to the team and run by a group of hard core fans.
