The city of Baltimore had the Baltimore Colts for years and after the Colts took off for Indianapolis, Baltimore was ripe for another team when the Cleveland Browns vacated Cleveland and wanted to move. In 1996 the Baltimore Ravens played their first home game. They were able to sell 50,000 season tickets in just 14 days, so the fan support was there. The new franchise was able to win the Super Bowl in 2001 against the New York Giants. There hard noised defense was one of the best off all time with players like Ray Lewis, Rod Woodson, and Sam Adams. The team has never had a very good offense, but somehow finds a way to win ballgames. The current roster includes Joe Flacco (quarterback), Mark Clayton (wide receiver), Derrick Mason, Ray Lewis, Willis McGahee and Ed Reed. Past rosters have included Steve McNair, Mike Anderson, Kyle Boller, Todd Heap, Jamal Lewis, and Chris McAlister. The Balitmore Ravens 2009-2010 Schedule looks good but with perennial powerhouse Pittsburgh, they will have to improve on the offensive side of things to succeed.
