Best Go Kart Review and Buying Guide:

If you have ever ridden a go kart then you know the feeling you get while racing around the track and hearing the tires squeal. My older brother was always into go karts and motorcycles, so ever since I was a kid I have always been interested in putting on my helmet and hitting the track. Today you can buy go karts at auto stores and even places like Costco, but years ago it was more common for people to build-make their own (they were simply homemade). Some of the more popular brands of go karts are Manco, Honda, Minimoto, Murray, and Hammerhead. If you want speed in your toy you can buy a gas go kart which will usually hit speeds of about 80 mph. If you are buying a go kart for a kid then you might want to stick with an electric version that is cheaper and a little easier for children to handle. They do make go karts for indoor and outdoor use so wherever you live in the world you can still enjoy the fun.

Go Kart Parts:

Are you trying to buy go kart parts online? If you own a go kart the odds are you will have to replace most of the parts over time like the brakes, clutch, tires, axle, rims, pedals, etc. It helps if you are mechanical when you own toys like go karts because replacing a transmission is not cheap, and even buying a new seat can cost $100. We looked at a lot of websites online that sell go kart parts (accessories) and recommend you check out gokartgalaxy.com. Their site offers wheels, steering pieces, gas tanks, pedals, bearings, bushings, chains, used parts, frames, fenders, and even blue print plans for building a go kart. We listed some of their more popular products to give you an idea of pricing. 1. Go Kart Steering Package - This set of parts has all the steering components you need for only $79.99. 2. Wheel-Tire Combo with 5" Aluminum Rims - Includes two front wheels, two rear wheels, four tires & tubes and mounting hardware - $159.99. 3. Go Kart Kit - with 5" aluminum mag style wheels, 4.10x3.50x5" front sawtooth tires, 4.10x3.50x5" rear knobby tires, is regularly $515.00, but is now on sale for only $495.00. 4. Go Kart Axle/Bearing Package - This package includes an axle and everything you need to mount it to your go kart frame - $59.99.

Go Kart Racing / History:

Go kart racing has become a huge sport across the world thanks in large part to its accessibility and cost. A great website for the history of kart racing and general information is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kart_racing. Kart racing is another version of open-wheeler motor sports with simple, small four-wheeled vehicles called karts, go-karts, or gearbox/shifter karts depending on the design of the vehicle. Most racing fans agree that the first kart was built in 1956 in Southern California by Art Ingels. A Formula A kart with a 100 cc 2 stroke engine can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 4.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 85 mph. Open go karts have no roll cage while the karts you see raced on dirt tracks will have a roll cage for safety reasons. Racing karts are always 2 or 4 stroke engines and rarely have a differential (some people do modify them). Go Kart racing is an international event with kids getting started as early as 5 years old. Typically there are 3 types of racing events which are Sprint, Endurance, and Speedway. For most kart racers go karts are a cheap and practical way to get their children involved in auto racing (it is basically like the minor leagues) and every race car driver has raced go karts at some point in their career.
