Inflatable Water Slide Reviews:
- What is an inflatable water slide?
- Benefits of home water slides
- How much do inflatable water slides cost? Which should I buy?
When the warm summer months hit folks in California, Nevada, Florida, Texas, and Arizona, kids look for pools and so do adults. Trying to cool off in hot temperatures is not easy, but the latest backyard water toys are inflatable water slides.
Much like those bounce houses you've probably seen in your neighbors yards at some point, the inflatable water slides are hooked up to a blower which inflates the tubing and creates the structure on which the water flows down and allows kids to slide down.
One of our friends had setup the Banzai Falls Original Water Slide last year when we were at their house and our kids had a blast. I found the blower a bit noisy, but otherwise the inflatable water slide seemed to work just fine. Our friends said they had used it all summer and had zero complaints. When I looked online I found several models that got terrible reviews (we will go into those a little later).
The video below shows the basic functions of the Little Tikes Inflatable Water Slide and what to expect:
What to look for in an inflatable water slide?
Home water slides can be a nice addition to your yard, but you need to consider a few things being buying anything. Large inflatable water slides need space and if you live in the modern west coast yards like we do, you have to think about size. Lots of parents choose to rent an inflatable water slide for things like summertime parties.
The cost to rent is not cheap, so buying may be a better alternative. Depends on how often you'll use it and if you can dedicate that much space to the slide in your yard. The blower should be able to blow up the slide in 5 to 15 minutes, then turn on the water and you are ready to go.
The water slides come in different shapes, some offer waterfalls, some slides, and others a combination. Caring for the inflatable waterslide is probably going to be the biggest issue. We found plenty of complaints in online reviews by owners. The most common are things like - doesn't hold air, wastes water, blower isn't efficient, the material isn't durable, and when you do have a problem they claim the customer service at the manufacturers is less than adequate. That being said, there are dozens of reviews that are positive and some slides rate better than others.
The water slides are meant for kids 5 to 15 (sometimes only up to age 12). We didn't see any that are for adults - the weight of a larger adult could cause stability issues on some of these. They are meant for KIDS! Who are the leading brands - Banzai (Manley), Blast Zone, Aqua Leisure, Intex, Little Tikes, and Wham-O. The Banzai Splash Blast Lagoon is a nice smaller sized inflatable water lagoon with slide. While the larger Banzai Roaring Rapids Adventure is huge and requires lots of room.
Inflatable water slide reviews - The best source for consumer comments and feedback is at Amazon.com. They list dozens of different models and list hundreds of owner opinions as to which slides hold up best. The one brand that consistently scored better than all the others is Blast Zone. You can find some of their products listed below along with direct links to their entire selection. You can browse the best selling inflatable water slides here.
Best Inflatable Water Slides:
BEST - Bigger isn't always better, but in this case, the Banzai Roaring Rapids Adventure takes top prize as the best lawn water slide on the market. It's huge (measures over 26' long x 18' wide x 9'+ high), features a continuous airflow blower motor, has a combined user weight of 400 lbs, and is constructed of UV resistant materials that are durable.
There are 3 slides to choose from - a double bump slide, curving tunnel slide, and straight drop slide. This inflatable backyard water park will amaze all your neighbors and they'll probably want to come over and enjoy it. The splash pool is a nice addition that not all water slide home products offer.
How long will it take to inflate this product? Can you say less than 5 minutes? Yes, you'll be up and running (sliding) in on time. Owners seem very positive about this slide with comments like "great backyard fun" and "holding up well - 3 summers of fun". One problem is storage with these grand units. Some owners say it's impossible to get it back into the storage bag once it's been inflated. The manufacturer does not recommend keeping the water slide inflated when not in use. Therefore, find a place to store it when it's not in use.
Another top rated brand is Blast Zone and their inflatable water parks get near perfect scores from owners and experts. Some prices top out at over $700, but when you see them you will be amazed at the configurations and water capabilities. Check out the top rated Blast Zone inflatable water parks/slides here.

Backyard Inflatable Water Slide:
RECOMMENDED - The name Little Tikes is pretty much synonymous with kids toys and their backyard inflatables rate quite well. One of the most popular inflatable water slides is the Little Tikes Rocky Mountain River Race. Recommended for kids 5 to 10 years old, you get two slides with spray hoods so the surface remains slippery at all times. Ride the slide down to the splash pool and enjoy the water.
The heavy duty blower will keep the water slide inflated and their are support stakes that anchor the slide in place. The middle of the product has a rock wall that kids climb up and then go either right or left to the slides. The material is puncture resistant - owner reviews show that this Little Tikes is durable and provides hours of fun in the sun. View all the top rated inflatable water slides here.
Blast Zone Inflatable Water Park:
RECOMMENDED - One of the most popular slides from Blast Zone is the Blast Zone Inflatable Water Park. It features dual slides, inflates in less than 2 minutes, includes a blower, and when deflated will become the size of a rolled up sleeping bag. The Crocodile Isle Water Park has a crocodile colored theme with a climbing wall in the middle. The sprayers will rain down on the 2 slides and keep your kids moving smoothly around the curved slides. The sprayer system attaches to your garden hose - not much water flow is required to get the slides wet and slippery.
Quality is always a concern on these slides as parents want something that is durable, safe, and easy to maintain. The materials are strong and hold up well to constant abuse from kids. The slide features double and quadruple heavy-duty stitching. Blast Zone offers a variety of water slides and water parks, we suggest going to Amazon to see them all.
