Who makes the best Snowboards - K2, Burton, Forum, Ride, Morrow, Roxy, Nitro?

Snowboarding has taken off in popularity over the last decade and you will find more snowboarders than skiers on many mountains these days. It's a fun sport to try and even funner to watch as the best snowboarders in the world work a half-pipe with insane trips. Snowboarding is essentially like surfing down a snow slope. Much like skateboarding or surfing you turn your board and shift your body weight to maneuver down the hill. The best snowboard makers in the world are companies like Burton, K2, Sims, Salomon, Forum and Ride. We prefer the Burton line of snowboards since they have the best reviews from actual users. The Burton product line includes the Air, Custom, Fish, Royale, Vapor, Clash, Malolo, and T6. The most expensive is the Vapor at $899. You can check out the Burton line and buy online here (including boots and bindings).

The Ride series of snowboards include the DH, Kink and Havoc. Comfortable for beginners and yet can handle the demands of experienced snowboarders looking to do tricks and jumps. The Forum and Nitro snowboards are ideal for freestyle riders who want total command of the board for quick action and immediate response for difficult maneuvers. If you are a beginner, we recommend spending no more than $250 on a snowboard to make sure you like the sport of snowboarding first and then after a few seasons of developing your skills, move on up to the better boards from Roxy, Sims, Morrow. Go to your local snowboard shop and find a good pair of snowboard boots, then find the snowboard bindings followed by the snowboard itself.

Where can I get cheap snowboards and gear?

Sick of paying full price for a snowboard that you know you can get for much less. Try Boardsforless.com and get discounted snowboards at some of the cheapest prices online. You will find Lamar Snowboards, Elevation boards, Silence, Kemper, and Venom. We found the 144CM Lamar Diablo 2005 Snowboard deck for $149. They have a whole collection of snowboard gear with snowboard goggles, snowboard pants, and snowboard jackets. You can get a pair of Airwalk Vulcan snowboard boots for $59.99 and a Fusion Snowboard insulated jacket for $59.99. The Sims EXP1L Insulated Snowboard pants sell for $49.99. They had a clearance sale on K2 Clicker HB Snowboard boots and bindings for $99. Snowboarddepot.com is another great site for discount snowboard gear and they carry Morrow, Roxy, Rome, Option, Gnu, and Rossignol name brand items. You may also want to browse this list of low-cost snowboards at Amazon -- you can get kids gear for less than $50.

What should I consider when buying snowboard bindings?

Bindings typically come in two or three sizes - Small, Medium, and Large. The size you choose will depend completely on the Snowboard Boot that you have chosen in combination with the binding. Make sure the binding has the correct size that allows you to comfortably get into the binding and easily adjust the straps (when using strap binding) without leaving too much strap on either side. Bindings are essential for Snowboarding, they ensure that your Snowboard Boots (and of course your feet) are attached securely to your Snowboard. Keep in mind that different people using Different Riding Styles prefer a particular kind of bindings. Consequently, there are several Types of Snowboard Bindings. However, you must first Buy your Snowboard Boots before even thinking about buying your bindings. This is because you need to bring your Snowboard Boots with you when shopping for a Snowboard Binding to be able to get the right fit. So please buy your boots first and then find the snowboard bindings that complement the boot and your style of riding the best. List of best-selling snowboard bindings here.

Safety Equipment - Snowboarding Protective Gear:

Wrist injuries are by far the most common Snowboarding injuries so having a good set of snowboard wrist guards is key. Snowboard knee pads will help when you catch an edge and fall forward onto your knees. Many falls on snowboards are to the side or backwards, so snowboard hip pads are essential to help with a "softer landing". They have added cushion in the butt area to prevent tailbone bruises. A snowboard helmet is a must for any level of snowboarder. Many falls occur on ice or hard snow and a concussion is easy to sustain if you are no wearing the proper protective gear. Helmets are stylish and don't restrict vision so you will not even know they are on half the time.. Top snowboard helmets from Amazon here.
