Most of us remember the good years in Golden State with "Run TMC", which stood for Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond. This was during the early 90's and most late 80's, during which time many NBA fans thought the Warriors had a good chance to win the NBA Title. The Warriors never reached the Finals and eventually the team fell apart with injuries and trades (the typical scenario in the NBA). The Golden State Warriors 1st joined the NBA in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors and in 1971 became Golden State Warriors. The Warriors play in the Pacific Division in the Western Conference (a tough conference with the Spurs, Suns, Lakers and many other good NBA teams). To view their home schedule check out nba.com/warriors/schedule. If you live in Oakland California, you can attend a home game at Oracle Arena and watch players like Baron Davis hoop it up. In the early days The Golden State Warriors were a decent team, but until they settled in Oakland as The Golden State Warriors they never really made much of an impact. In 1974 with Rick Barry leading the team, the Warriors swept the Washington Bullets in the NBA Finals to win their only ring. It is still considered by many basketball experts to be the biggest upset ever in the NBA championships. In the 1980's the Warriors had a few decent teams with Purvis Short and Eric "Sleepy" Floyd leading the way, again they never did much in the playoffs and the team chemistry was not quite there. In the late 80's the Golden State Warriors did put together another decent team with Richmond, Mullin and Hardaway, unfortunately for Warrior fans that team never seemed good enough to compete with the great teams in the league. In the 1990's the Warriors were able to acquire Chris Webber and Latrell Sprewell with the hopes of building a new franchise in Oakland. After this dissapointing period the Warriors went through many good players like, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Troy Murphy, John Starks, and even Danny Fortson. These players were pretty good and consistent, yet they never reached their full potential as a unit and it was back to square 1 for Golden State. 2006 could be a good year for the Golden State Warriors with Baron Davis and Patrick O'Bryant playing together and building some chemistry in Oakland. We predict the Warriors will end up going about 42-42 for the season and making the playoffs in 2007. The current logo for the Warriors is a super-hero type fellow on a basketball holding a lightning bolt that spells out Warriors (kind of cheesy we think).
Golden State Warriors Cheerleaders (girls), Pictures:
If you live in California then you are used to seeing beautiful women everywhere you look (if your eyes are open anyways). If you have ever gone to a Warriors home game then you have been lucky enough to see their hot Warrior girls dancing up a storm at every home game. For more news and photos of the Warrior girls check out nba.com/warriors/index_main.html. The girls just released their new calendar for 2006-2007 and you can pick it up at the link above. California is known as the sunshine state and the Warrior Girls will not let down that reputation as they bring sunshine to every game they perform at in Oakland. Do yourself a favor and pick up the new calendar loaded with hot photos.
Where can I find Golden State Warriors Tickets, Jerseys, and Merchandise?:
If you want to see the Warriors play a home game you are going to need to buy tickets. The best online store for tix is ticketmaster.com where you can buy tickets to all sporting events in America. The cheap seats for a Warriors game will cost you $10 for an Upper Level seat, while Lower Level seating starts at $65. If you want to go 1st class you might consider buying Courtside Club seats which will run from $200 up to $1500 (depending on the seat and visiting team). Are you looking to buy Golden State Warriors merchandise or apparel? If you are check out ebay.com where you can buy jerseys, shoes, hats, shirts, mugs, calendars, sports trading cards and even a trash can (if you really love your team). Baron Davis is the leader in Golden State and his jersey is a top seller among fans, expect to pay at least $60 for his jersey and prices we saw go all the way to $200. T shirts and hats are a more affordable gift item as you can find them on Ebay for under $25 (there are hundreds of hats and shirts available in all sizes and styles). Ebay is an online auction so you can bid on any item you want and if the price goes higher than you can afford, you simply don't bid any higher on that specific item for sale.
Golden State Warriors Fansites/Wallpaper:
In 2006 NBA fans are no longer just wearing jerseys and hats to show their loyalty to their favorite team. With the internet getting bigger and better everyday sports fans have started to build fan sites to support their home teams. We reviewed hundreds of Golden State Warriors fansites and found the best one to be at warriorsworld.net where you can download photos, wallpapers, post comments in the forum, read trade rumors and even check out recent stats (for you fantasy geeks). I grew up in California (in the Bay Area) and I have many fond memories of watching the Warriors play in person and at home on my tv. Show a little team love and try building a fansite for the Warriors, at least check out the fan sites online and stay up to date on Golden State and their playoff hopes.
