Reviews of the Best Golf Balls - Nike, Titleist, Callaway, Maxfli, Pinnacle

For those of us who play golf, we all lose golf balls when we play golf. Whether it's into the water or the woods, it's a part of the game of golf. Titleist is the #1 maker of golf balls in the world with the Pro V1, NXT Tour, DT Solo, Pro V1x, and NXT. The most expensive Pro V1x balls sell for $48.95 (pack of 12), that's over $4 a ball. Golf balls are made for distance, spin, softness, flight angle, and control. Every player needs all of those features, but some more than others. Mostly, golfers need balls that go straight (whoever can create that will be a billionaire). Callaway carries the HX Tour, HX Tour 56, HX Red and Blue, Big Bertha Red and Blue, HX Hot, and the Warbird. The HX Tour golf balls from Callaway sell for $50 (12 pack). Nike has joined the game late, but with Tiger Woods on their side, they are slowly winning market share with their line of Nike One Golf balls.

The Nike One golf balls sells for $39.95 (12 pack). Nike offers a cheaper ball called the Nike Power Distance Super Series 2 ($15.95 for 12). The new Maxfli Black Max offers maximum distance, precision control and superior feel. Maxfli also makes the Noodle line of golf balls and their latest product is the Maxfli Noodle Ice. The golf balls from Precept are the U-Tri Tour, D-Force, Laddie, and PWR Drive. Pinnacle makes a nice line of womens golf balls called the Pinnacle Gold Lady which sell for $18 (12 balls). I prefer the TopFlite balls - XL Series which come in distance, control, and soft. They usually sell for $18 (12-15 pack). Unless you are a pro, it's hard to tell the difference between golf balls. Don't get too attached since you will probably end up losing it anyway. Go to Golfballs.com for all the makers we've discussed plus Dunlop, Volvik, Slazenger, Strata, Srixon, and Cannon.

Used Golf Balls:

Discounted and cheap golf balls are on every golf course in America, yet most people just walk by used balls on the course that have been abandoned by embarassed golfers that chose to contiue playing without finding their lost ball. Most people I play with just pass up lost balls and get on with the game. Eventually, those balls are resold at pro shops and golf stores to the same people who lost them. You can get great golf ball deals online at sites like Onlygolfballs.com and GolfBallZone.com. Both sites carry all the name brand balls that have been cleaned up and look as good as new, only at wholesale prices. Why pay full price for something that inevitable gets lost, starting going with used golf balls and save money to play more rounds of golf each year.

Golf Ball Marker:

Want a custom golf ball, then use a golf ball marker from Golfballmarker.com. Personalize all your golf balls with a monogram marker. Easy to use with an instruction kit it sells for $19.95. These make great birthday or Christmas gifts for the golfer in your life.

Chocolate Golf Balls:

No, these aren't for hitting with your golf clubs, they are truly chocolate candy for you to eat. They come in a nice little range bucket with a bunch of chocolate balls that resemble golf balls. You can find them online at TheGolfCollection.com and they sell for $8.50.
