Las Vegas, until recently, was not thought of as a golfing destination since gambling has always been their claim to fame. Golfing vacations to Las Vegas have really taken off with new courses going in all over the place. Having played at Lake Las Vegas, Paiute, Desert Pines, Primm, and Rio Secco, we enjoyed the multiple courses offerings at Lake Las Vegas the best. The 2 public courses at Lake Las Vegas are Reflection Bay Golf Club and The Falls Golf Club. Paiute has gorgeous courses called the Wolf, Snow, and Mountain, but the wind at Paiute can be intimidating and not for the faint of heart. I have played the course when 45 MPH winds blow your ball around on the putting surface. Right now golf rounds in Vegas are pricey (even in the off season) at $200+ for some places, so hopefully as more courses go in and the competition increases, the expensive clubs will reduce rates a bit. California Golf Vacation:

Having grown up in the Bay Area, I am familiar with great golf courses in the Monterey area, specifically Pebble Beach. Although quite pricey, the Monterey peninsula offers some of the most world famous courses including Poppy Hills, The Links at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach, and Spyglass Hill. Northern California has Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Coyote Creek, and Cinnabar Hills, and Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco. Palm Springs and Palm Desert area offer over 70 courses that are excellent choices for getting away from cold winter climates and relaxing in 70 degree temps during December and January. Palm Springs is the best place to plan a California golf vacation since it offers a large variety of golf courses and the prices are reasonable with all the competition.
