Green Bay Packers Team History:The most famous franchise in the history of the NFL, they won the first 2 Superbowls under the legendary Vince Lombardi with players like Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Willie Davis, Paul Hornung. Their last Superbowl win was in 1997 under Brett Favre. Lambeau Field is famous throughout the NFL for being the "frozen tundra" in the dead of winter that wilts all opponents and carries the Packers through the playoffs. Some of the mystique has disappeared in recent years but the Packers are still a formidable opponent come December almost every year. The Cheese Heads are famous throughout Wisconsin for dawning the "cheese" looking hats during the Packers home games. Green Bay Packer football is what people do on Sunday in the fall/winter in Wisconsin. They worship the Packers and all Green Bay Packers items are sold like hotcakes during the football season. Green Bay Packer tickets are tough to get as they sellout game after game. The 2009-10 season has Aaron Rodgers at quarterback now that Favre is on the Vikings and the team is doing ok. Green Bay Packers Cheerleaders: Wallpaper Images:The Packers haven't had official cheerleaders since 1988, however cheerleaders from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and St. Norbert College appear at home games throughout the season. The Packers discontinued their squad of official cheerleaders in large part due to fan indifference. There are no plans to return to official cheerleaders. The Packers do supply a weekly update of large wallpaper images you can download for free on their website HERE. The images go back as far as 2002 and include players like Brett Favre, Antonio Freeman, Donald Driver, Charles Woodson, Aaron Rodgers, and Lambeau Field. The Legend Series has Bart Starr wallpapers, Don Hutson, Forrest Gregg, James Lofton, Jim Taylor, Paul Hornung, Ray Nitschke, Vince Lombardi, Willie Davis and Willie Wood. Fan sites:The most comprehensive fan site we found was at Packersnews.com with video and audio highlights from the latest Packers games, news and features on players and personnel, multimedia files from current and past games, photo galleries of players and games, a great fan zone with forums, team statistics, the schedule, Lambeau field information and team history. There is even a Premium Subscription service for the site (didn't seem necessary since all the stuff you would want as fan appeared on the site for free). Recently we have turned to Packerchatters.com for the most up to date news articles, game time decisions and player discussions.
