Houston Rockets Players, Logo, History:

The Houston Rockets are a great NBA team and they have been ever since they joined the league in 1967, they were then in San Diego. In 1970 the Rockets moved to Houston and have been in the Western Conference ever since. The Toyota Center is home for the Rockets today, and they are coached by Jeff Van Gundy. The Rockets 1st draft pick ever was Pat Riley and a few years later they would add Calvin Murphy to their team. Houston struggled in the early years, but before they arrived in Houston the Rockets did make the playoffs in 1969 while playing in San Diego. 1975 saw the Houston Rockets make it to the NBA playoffs for the 1st time in their city history. The Rockets made a huge move in 1977 when they acquired Moses Malone (who would go on to win the MVP Award in 1979). Rick Barry joined the Rockets in 1979 and Houston looked like it had great things headed its way regarding basketball, while Houston did make the NBA Finals in 1981 they were out played by the Celtics (and lost in 6 games). In 1984 the Houston Rockets drafted Hakeem Olajuwon from (University of Houston) and he looked like the perfect fit to play with Ralph Sampson. Houston bounced in and out of the playoffs in the late 1980's and into the early 1990's until Hakeem became "the dream". Olajuwon dominated basketball and all the great centers as he led his team to 2 straight NBA Titles. In 1994 Houston beat the Knicks to win the NBA Championship and in 1995 they beat the Orlando Magic (and Shaquille Oneal). The Rockets have had a lot of great players over the years like Robert Horry, Sam Cassell, Charles Barkley, Vernon Maxwell, Scottie Pippen, and even Mario Elie. In the late 1990's the Rockets had players like Steve Francis and Walt Williams, but they never had enough talent to do anything in the playoffs. In 2002 the Rockets drafted Yao Ming from China and have seen him develop into a great basketball player (maybe the best center in the league). Cuttino Mobley, Tracy Mcgrady, Juwan Howard, and Shane Battier are some of the current players that hope to bring a championship back to Houston and make Texas proud again. The Rockets have had a few different logos over the years from the space ship design in the 90's, all the way up to the current logo which is just the Houston Rockets name written in red ink with a capital R between their name. Houston Rockets Cheerleaders, Pictures:

If you live in Houston and love the Rockets, the odds are you also love their dancers - cheerleaders. The Rockets cheerleading (dance) squad is made up of 22 talented women who represent Houston at every home game. Since 1994-1995 the Rockets have had a dance team that helps to raise the spirits on the court and in the crowd. If you are searching for photos, news, meet and greet info, charity events or anything else the dancers are involved with then go to nba.com/rockets/dance/0405dancers_index.html for complete details on the girls. Go Rockets..

Where can I find Houston Rockets Tickets, Jerseys, Schedule, and Merchandise?:

Most NBA fans in 2006 have bought some sort of clothing or merchandise online within the last few years. If you want to buy Houston Rockets clothes or maybe just a jersey you should check out ebay.com (which is an onilne auction site in case you are not familiar with the internet). We found ebay to be the best site online for buying Rockets merchandise mostly due to the fact that you can buy anything ever made on ebay. A Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady jersey will cost you between $60 and $300 depending on which style jersey you are buying (authentic, replica, throwback, kids). For most of the Houston Rockets clothing items, the kids pieces will be the cheapest because they are the smallest and use less material. You can find coffe cups, calendars, basketballs, trading or basketball cards, hats, t shirts, even underwear with the Rockets logo on it if you want. We think a baseball hat is a great purchase online for yourself or simply as a gift, as we found them for as little as $10 on ebay. If you are trying to find the Rockets schedule so you can buy tickets to a Houston home game then check out nba.com/rockets/schedule (that is the official NBA website). Do you want to purchase tickets to a Houston Rockets game? If you answered yes, then check out stubhub.com for latest prices and availability. The cheap seats for a Rockets game will cost you $23 and put you in the upper level (not great seats, but for $23 hey). If you are a big shot and want to spend a lot of cash, try sitting court side (or as close as you can get as big games will sell out). A good seat in the lower level will cost you from $139 and up. Going to a NBA game can get expensive, but the action is amazing and the energy in the arenas is magical.

Houston Rockets Fan sites/Wallpaper:

Do you like the NBA? Do you love the Houston Rockets? If you answered yes to this question then you should try to support your home team by building a website dedicated to them (called a fansite). Most Rocket fans show their support by wearing merchandise and buying Rockets Memorabilia, but you can take the next step and become an online promoter for your team. There are literally hundreds of Houston Rockets Fansites online so we decided to tell you which one is best. Check out rocketsnation.com where you can post news clips, read rumor reports, wallpaper, a message board, a forum, get game stats, check your fantasy stats, and even look at photos (pictures) of your favorite players. If you are serious about building a fan site dedicated to the Rockets then you need to check out tripod.com for details on hosting (like a montly rent for internet space) your website for free and even getting some design tips.
