Houston Texans History:

The Houston Texans started playing in the NFL in 2002 and have had some great defenses but the offense has lacked consistentcy. Their short history has proven that expansion teams can compete but making the playoffs is another story. In their first years in the NFL, players like David Carr, Domanick Davis, Andre Johnson, Eric Moulds, and Antowain Smith led the team. Now, the current roster includes quarterback Matt Schaub, running back Steve Slaton, and Mario Williams. You can follow the Houston Texans online during the year at HoustonTexans.com. They have the latest news on the draft picks, roster moves, injury updates, depth charts, gameday matchups, team history, schedules, and statistics. It's not easy being an expansion club and knowing you are going to lose more than win to start off in the NFL, but with a few more years of growing the team, the Texans could make the playoffs. The city of Houston has done a good job of selling tickets, and again the 2009-10 season is sold out for season ticket holders.

Houston Texans Cheerleader: Wallpaper and Calendars:

The Houston Texans have a great group of cheerleaders and their website devotes a huge section to them with pictures, bios and appearance information on all the girls. The 2009-10 Houston Texan Cheerleaders are a devoted group even though the Texans have not performed well in the last few years. You can download wallpaper size images of the cheerleaders at http://www.houstontexans.com/fanzone/texansdownloads.asp with photos of Erica, Ashley, and the cover to the 2009 Swimsuit calendar. All these desktop images and backgrounds are free to download to your computer/pc. The Houston Texans players are also available on the same page with background photos of Dunta Robinson, Antwan Peek, Andre Johnson, David Carr, Toro, Jerome Mathis, and Domanick Davis. The 2009 cheerleading calendar includes 12 months of beauties for only $10. The Houston Texans do a nice job of promoting the calendar on their website and I'm sure the cheerleaders appreciate the publicity.

Houston Texans Tickets and Merchandise/Apparel - Andre Johnson Jersey:

As we mentioned above, the Houston Texans have sold out their season tickets for years and have a wait list if you want to get on it. I'm glad to see that they have allocated some tickets for single game ticket sales. That way you can buy individual tickets to all preseason and regular season games. Merchandise has sold very well over the first years that the Texans have been in the league and you can shop online at Houstontexansproshop.com. The top selling apparel items are the 2009 Houston Texans Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar $10.00, Reebok Women's Short Sleeve Pink Ribbon T-Shirt $19.99, Houston Texans Women's Personalized Jersey- Replica $79.99, Reflective Decal $4.99, and the Reebok I'm a Texan Short Sleeve T-Shirt $19.99. You can also purchase jerseys, hats, collectibles, memorabilia, tailgating gear, and men's and women's Houston Texans apparel like shorts, shirts, pants, and sweatshirts. For tickets, we suggest looking at the Reliant Stadium seating chart and map with pricing HERE. RECOMMENDED - We suggest shopping online at Amazon.com since they carry all the latest gear and offer some of the lowest prices you will find on the internet. You can browse the top selling Houston Texans merchandise and apparel online here.

Fan sites:

Since the Texans are a relatively new team in the NFL, fan sites are hard to find. We did, however locate one good website at Texanstalk.com with fan polls, interactive message boards (discussions on tailgating, management, and players). Another Texans website is at Texansbullpen.com - not as good as the first fan site, but still worth a look for photos and web links. One site that used to be updated more often is at Txdavid.com, but at the time of this article the owner was only doing periodic updates and was moving the site to a new host. I guess you should check back in a few months to see what it looks like. Any Houston Texans fans out there? Please start fan websites to help us all out.
