Kansas City Royals - History - Logo - Rosters - Players:
The Kansas City Royals franchise started in 1969 after the Kansas City Athletics left in 1967 for Oakland. As with any expansion club, the Royals had hard times but finally reach the playoffs in 1976, 1977, and 1978. They went to the World Series in 1980 and lost but returned in 1985 to beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 7 games. George Brett and Brett Saberhagen carried the team, but they haven't been back to the playoffs since. 2006 is off to another bad start (last place in their division) and so the woes seem to continue for the team from Kansas City. Perhaps some off season trades and free agent pickups will make 2007 look better. If you want to follow the team online, go to Royals.com and get updates on standings, stats, schedules, rosters, rumors, news, and radio broadcasts. All home games are played at Kauffman Stadium.

What is MLB.TV?:
"For only $14.95 a month or $79.95 a season, you can watch virtually every out-of-market game in high quality with your broadband connection. Major League Baseball pioneered this technology for making its full schedule of games available live over the Internet, and it has become a way of life for fans who are watching their favorite team from home, the office, at college or in a hotel room on a business or vacation trip." When you consider that the price per game is about $1, how can you lose.
Even with the team struggling in Kansas City, the Royals online shop at their official website still does brisk sales of all sorts of items. The most popular are the Kansas City Royals Authentic Customized 2006 Road Jersey, Kansas City Royals Authentic Collection Dedication T-Shirt by Majestic Athletic, Kansas City Royals Authentic Fitted Alternate Cap, Kansas City Royals Clean Up Adjustable Cap, Sport FX Kansas City Royals Mini Jersey, and the Mitchell & Ness Kansas City Royals 1985 World Series Champions Pennant ($29.99). You can search through the customized jersey section and pick up a throwback jersey for George Brett or Brett Saberhagen for $159. As you can imagine, ticket sales have slowed each year as the team continues to struggle. You can easily get tickets to any game and they even have a section on the website called "Royal Replay" where you can print tickets right from your home computer. Let's hope the team returns to the playoffs soon so that the city can have something to cheer about.
Kansas City Royals Fan sites?:
If I were a Kansas City Royals fan I would be ashamed. There are no good fan sites available online. Where is the support for a team that is trying to win? Royalszone.com was the only site we could find related to fans with history of players, stats, and World Series moments. Perhaps the spirit will pickup in Kansas City and more fans will start simple sites that have forums, message boards, and photos. Let me know if you start a site and we will post it here.
