The Miami Heat came into the NBA in 1988 as an expansion team, and slowly but surely have become a competitor for the NBA Championship. In 1995 The Heat brought in Pat Riley--former star coach of The LA Lakers- and hoped he could lead them to an NBA Finals, only to lose to Michael Jordan and the Bulls once again. Over the years the Heat have had some great players, from Glenn Rice to Tim Hardaway, but they were never able to put the pieces together to reach the NBA Finals. Now that the Miami Heat picked up Shaquille Oneal, and Dwayne Wade is starting to play like one of the top 10 players in the league, they have a good shot at winning the NBA Title in 2005.
