Milwaukee Bucks Players, History, Trades:

Milwaukee has one of the oldest NBA teams with the Bucks who joined the NBA in the 1968-1969 season. Milwaukee had Kareem and Oscar Robertson on their team which was enough to help them win an NBA crown in just their 3rd year as a franchise. We are all familiar with Lew Alcindor who played center and went on to play for the Lakers (where he became extremely famous playing next to Magic Johnson in the 1980's). The Bucks would have some good years in the early 70's, but when Kareem (who would become the all time leading scorer in NBA history) was gone in 1975 Milwaukee managed to win only 38 games. Oscar Robertson was still a great player in the mid 1970's, even though he was getting older and the team was not as talented as it was with Kareem on it. In 1976 the Bucks would draft Alex English and Quinn Buckner with hopes of building a new team around youth. The Bucks did obtain Bob Lanier (a future hall of famer) through a trade and would end up going back to the playoffs in 1980 where they would lose to the 76ers (led by Julius Erving) in 7 games. In the early 1980's Milwaukee had some good teams (with players like Terry Cummings, Marques Johnson , Ricky Pierce, and Sidney Moncreif), in the end though they could never get past Chicago (with Michael Jordan) or the Celtics (led by Larry Bird and Kevin Mchale). Don Nelson left Milwaukee after the 1987 season for Golden State - where he would become executive vice president. This was a crucial time for the Bucks as they lost their coach and ended up back in the playoffs (again losing in the first-round to Atlanta and Dominique Wilkins). 1989 brought a new arena, the Bradley Center, to Milwaukee and its fans. The Bucks would win 49 games in 1989 and once again sneak into the playoffs before losing to Detroit in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Todd Day and Alvin Robertson were brought to Milwaukee in the early 90's to help reinvent the team as a young and talented squad. Milwaukee drafted Glenn Robinson (out of Purdue University) in 1993 and with the addition of Vin Baker it appeared they had a fighting chance at being a legitimate playoff team. Unfortunately for the Bucks they would win only 25 games in the 1995 season ( the 2nd worst in franchise history) and never seemed to gel as a team. In 1997 the Bucks drafted Ray Allen which was a major highlight for the team and basketball fans in Milwaukee. Allen was supposed to lead Milwaukee back to its glory days when a player by the name of Kareem wore the Bucks jersey. Ray Allen would go on to be a great player (never good enough though to help Milwaukee win a title) and was eventually traded to Seattle. Sam Cassell helped the Bucks win 40 games in 2001, 2002, and 2003, but the role players were below average and the Bucks could never get past being an average team. 2006-2007 should be an interesting year for Milwaukee as they enter the NBA season with a lot of young players and rookies. Charlie Villanueva and Andrew Bogut are the 2 young guns that Milwaukee is counting on for leadership on the court. For more Bucks news and player updates check out nba.com/bucks.html.

Milwaukee Bucks Energee Dance Squad, Pictures:

Are you a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks Energee (their cheerleaders - dance team)? This season Milwaukee fans will be delighted as their Bucks will have the Energee dancers (a group of 19 gorgeous women) pumping up the crowd for all home games. Sara and Amy are 2 popular girls on the dance team and they hope to bring a good spirit for the Bucks in 2006-2007. For more information and photos of the beautiful women who make up the dance team check out nba.com/bucks/dance/Energee0607.html. Most NBA teams have cheerleaders, but Milwaukee is hoping their Energee squad is gonna be a little different for the NBA. Every week Energee dancers will be working with kids in the local area to help give them instructions on dance (and just being a role model).

Where can I find Milwaukee Bucks Tickets, Jerseys, Schedule, and Merchandise?:

This should be an exciting year for Bucks fans as they watch a team of mostly new players (wearing new jerseys-uniforms). If you are looking to buy tickets to a Bucks home game try shopping at ticketmaster.com. We found ticketmaster to be the best and most secure online website for purchasing basketball tickets. Courtside seats at a Bucks game will cost you about $200 a seat (unless of course you work a great deal) otherwise you can sit in the upper deck for $14 a ticket. Most NBA arenas are set up so you can see the game clearly from every seat that is for sale. Since Milwaukee is in the eastern division (with NBA champs Miami, Detroit Pistons, and Cleveland Cavaliers) they will have a tough schedule on the road and at home. For Bucks schedule of games and start times check out nba.com/bucks for current events and game information. If you are gonna attend a Bucks home game and need a new Bucks jersey check out ebay.com where you can bid on items (hats, jerseys, shoes, shirts, mugs) for sale all over the world. Ebay is a unique website that is easy to use and we found a lot of good deals on Bucks merchandise. You can buy a Ray Allen jersey for $50 (if you want it autographed you will pay at least $100).

Milwaukee Bucks Fansites:

The Milwaukee Bucks have some good players on their team for the upcoming NBA season and most fans have high expectations. Bucks fans should have something to cheer about with Andrew Bogut joining Milwaukee this year as a rookie. If you are a Bucks fan and want to find a good fansite try going to allsports.com/nba/bucks/where you can read trade rumors, download pictures, and even shop (they carry an old Ray Allen poster for $11.99) Many basketball fans are building websites (fansites) to show their loyalty and support for their home teams. The internet is a great tool for people who want to follow their favorite teams as the season gets underway. If you want to build your own fansite and know a little bit about web design, then try geocities.com - a great website for beginners who want to learn html and host a website for free.
