The New Orleans Saints entered the NFL back in 1966 and played their first game the following season in 1967. The Saints have always struggled and at times the fans showed up at home games with bags over their heads with the words "aints" on them. It's not that the team hasn't had good players because over the years Archie Manning, Tom Dempsey, Billy Kilmer, George Rogers, Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Pat Swilling, Ken Stabler, and Bobby Hebert have all tried to lead the team to the playoffs. The current roster is perhaps the most exciting ever with Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Joe Horn, Deuce McAllister, Donte Stallworth. With Tampa Bay and Atlanta tough competitors in their division, the Saints have their work cut out, but Reggie Bush should make this season fun to watch. You can follow the team online at the official site Neworleanssaints.com and get gameday matchups, schedules, stats, tickets, depth charts, play fantasy football, and read the latest news on roster moves.
New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders: Wallpaper and Calendars:
The New Orleans Saints cheerleaders are called the Saintsations and have their own website at Saintsations.org. The website offers a contact email address, alumni girls, a bio and photo of each woman, upcoming events and appearances, there's a gallery with dozens of field shots, and the latest 2009 Saintsations cheerleading calendar you can buy online for $20. The Saints cheerleaders also have a team photo, autographed pictures, cheerleader costumes and past Saints calendars for sale as well. As for the players, you can get great wallpaper size images on the Saints official site in the Multimedia section under "wallpaper". They offer photos of Joe Horn, Deuce McAllister, Tom Dempsey, Charles Grant, the Saints logo, the Saints helmet, Drew Brees and Reggie Bush. There is also a nice collection of video highlights in the Multimedia section as well with footage of Archie Manning, and team highlights from 2005. With the recent drafting of Reggie Bush, I'm sure more videos will become available as the season goes along.
New Orleans Saints Merchandise/Apparel:
Even with a hot list of new players, the Saints have some season tickets left for the 2009 season and are hoping to rebound from a bad season a few years ago that was disrupted by Hurricane Katrina which displaced the team from New Orleans and made following the team hard for most fans. Individual game tickets are on sale as well for preseason games and regular season games. If you want the latest merchandise from the Saints, go to their online store from the teams site listed above. They carry balls, helmets, fitted caps, jerseys, jackets, youth jerseys, authentic jerseys, ladies apparel, polo shirts, shorts, pants, sweatshirts, t-shirts, visors, and auto accessories. The top sellers are the Bush #25 Black T Shirt ($23.95), Reggie Bush Home Replica Jersey - #25 ($74.95), Drew Brees Home Replica Jersey - #9 ($74.95), 2009 Player Visor ($20), 2006 Player Flexfit Cap ($25), and the Donte Stallworth Alternate Replica Jersey ($74.95).Get a seating chart of the SuperDome HERE.
