New York Giants History:The New York Giants franchise started in 1925 and has had its share of ups and downs. Their first world championship came in 1956. They won Superbowls in 1986 and 1990. They returned to the Superbowl to play the Baltimore Ravens in 2000 but lost. Just a few years ago they won another Super Bowl (2008) with Eli Manning at the helm. With such players as Phil Simms, Lawrence Taylor, Eli Manning, Tiki Barber, Michael Strahan, Mark Bavaro, and Jeremy Shockey the team has always had good players. The New York Giants official website for the NFL is at Giants.com with team rosters, news, injury reports, history of the team with Hall of Fame members, ticketing info, tv and radio multimedia section with clips and highlights you can view or download, and an online store with all the NY Giants apparel you could want. The Fan Zone is complete with Fantasy Football, Podcasts, wallpaper images, message boards, a junio Giants club, and more. The current roster includes Brandon Jacobs, Eli Manning, Kevin Boss, and Osi Umenyiora. Unfortunately Plaxico Burress is heading to prison on gun charges and will not be able to help the team this year.
New York Giants Cheerleaders: Wallpaper and Calendars:Unfortunately the Giants have no cheerleading squad since the team feels it would take away from the overall gameday experience. Too bad for us fans. There is however a nice section on the main site (Giants.com) with wallpaper pictures of Manning, Michael Strahan, Jeremy Shockey, Tiki Barber and the New Giants Logo. Perhaps in the future they will realize that a cheerleading calendar would be a big success and keep the fans happy. For now enjoy the wallpaper photos and screensavers.
New York Giants Fan sites?:Not a lot of fan sites for the Giants (you would assume a team from a major metro area would have plenty), but we did find one at NFL-Giants.com. You can stats for Fantasy Football leagues, information on Giants coaches, players, and game results. There are message boards and forums for fans to discuss the current season and player performance. Another recent site to pop up is at Giantszone.com with forums, blogs, schedules, daily articles on players and team changes, including the most recent episode with Plaxico Burress and his gun. Bigblueinteractive.com is another site with lots of articles to read about the team.
