New York Jets - History - Players:

The New York Jets have a checkered past mainly due to Joe Namath and his arm as well as his mouth. When the AFL merged with the NFL during the late 1960's and the Jets came out of the AFL to challenge the Balitmore Colts in SuperBowl III, Joe Namath essentially guaranteed the win and he came through. The Jets have had great players like Don Maynard, Wesley Walker, Mark Gastineau, Freeman McNeil, Joe Klecko, Ken O'Brien, Al Toon, Curtis Martin, John Abraham and Kevin Mawae. Chad Pennington was the starting quarterback for a few years and had Lavernues Coles as his receiver. The biggest news to hit this town was the pickup of Brett Favre last year from the Green Bay Packers. Favre did ok in 2008, but he now gone and Mark Sanchez is leading the young group of quarterbacks this year. When we first did this page on the Jets back in 2003 they did not have a cheerleader squad for the team. That all changed recently and now the New York Jets Flight Crew is on the field with the team for Sundays action. The New York Jet cheerleaders are very beautiful and you can find full size wallpaper images of them online in the Fan Zone of the official website. Each week more pictures are uploaded to the site for your enjoyment. Some fans can even get exclusive access to the crew after games. They do make appearances, so fill out the form online to make a request. I'm sure a calendar will be in the mix soon, as almost all NFL teams with cheerleading squads are selling swimsuit calendars. New York Jets Merchandise/Apparel - Mark Sanchez Jersey: Although the Jets official website is lacking with things for fans, the online shop for their merchandise and apparel is not. The current hot sellers include the Jets Favre Womens Replica Jersey, Jets Replica Brett Favre White Jersey, Jets Vintage Zip Hoody, and the Jets Draft Day Cap. There is a "clearance" section with great deals on fleece sweatshirts, t-shirts, jackets, logo scarfs, flannel boxers, flask, official game balls, hats, caps, and jerseys. The New York Jets currently are sold out for season ticket holders and there are NO individual game tickets available. You may be able to buy some game tickets through ticket resellers or through private owners on Ebay. You can join the waitlist for season tickets (currently 10000 strong), but that could take years to get tickets. We suggest logging into Ebay and look for "Jets tickets" to see what is available. The New York Jets obviously have a huge fan base to choose from in New York and it shows when you look for online fan sites. They have dozens to choose from. The first is at Theganggreen.com which focuses on the teams defense with message boards, downloads, ticket offers, links to other sites, and much more. The JetsInsider.com offers a huge photo gallery with players, what appear to be cheerleaders and fans. You can also get a Jets Bar Guide which tells you where to go to watch locally with fellow fans. There are message boards and fan chatrooms as well. Other top Jets fan sites are NyJetsfan.com and Jetnation.com which has a great selection of desktop wallpaper images of all the fan favorites.
